Custom plush toy FAQ

What people ask before they order a toy that doesn’t exist yet.

Every toy we make starts as a question, so here are the ones we hear most. Can’t find yours? Write to skazkodrom@gmail.com and we’ll answer.

Ordering & price

How do I order a custom plush toy?2026-09-24T17:43:55+03:00

Fill in the quote form on our Order page and attach a picture: a photo, a drawing, a screenshot, anything that shows what you want. We write back to talk through the details and give you a price and a time estimate. If you’re happy with both, you pay and we start. When the toy is finished, you see photos of it before it ships.

How much does a custom plush toy cost?2026-09-24T17:43:48+03:00

It depends on the kind of toy, its size and how much detail goes in. Custom toys start from $350. Bigger, more detailed pieces cost more, and a fully dressed collector doll can run to $2,500. Send us your picture and we’ll quote it for free.

Why does a handmade plush cost more than one from a shop?2026-09-24T17:43:42+03:00

A shop plush comes from a factory that makes thousands of the same toy and spreads the design cost over all of them. Yours has no pattern until our artist builds one from your picture. The fabric is picked for it, sometimes ordered just for it. Every piece is cut, sewn and stuffed by hand, and the face takes longest: move an eye a millimetre and the character changes.

Can you make a character from a game, film or show?2026-09-24T17:43:35+03:00

Yes, it’s most of what we sew: Rathalos, Dr. Eggman, Gregg Lee, Spyro. Send a screenshot or official art and tell us which version you mean, and any size you like. We’re an independent studio, so each one is a handmade fan piece sewn for one person, not official merchandise.

Design & photos

What pictures should I send?2026-09-24T17:44:43+03:00

Whatever you have. A clear front view helps most, then the back or side if there is one, plus close-ups of anything that makes the character itself: markings, a scar, the buttons on a coat. A drawing on paper works fine. Only have an idea in words? Tell us, and our makers will sketch it out first. If something’s missing, we’ll ask before we start.

How do I get a plush of my OC?2026-09-27T12:43:03+03:00

Send us your reference sheet, or any drawing of your character, front and back if you have them. When a design needs simplifying for fabric, our artist draws a plush version first and you approve it before anything is cut. There will be exactly one, because nobody else can buy your OC. Original characters start from $400.

Will it look exactly like the picture I sent?2026-09-24T17:44:22+03:00

It will look like a handmade toy of your picture, which is not quite the same as a copy of it. Fabric has thickness, a face has to work in three dimensions, and a flat drawing never shows the back of a head.

What we aim for is the moment you open the box and recognize it. The photo stage is there so that you decide whether we got there, not us.

Can you add sound, lights, poseable limbs or clothes?2026-09-24T17:43:28+03:00

Yes, on request. If it can be handmade into a soft toy, we can work out how: wire in the arms and legs so it holds a pose, a sound module, LED lights, an outfit that comes off. Tell us what you want when you ask for the quote, since extras change the price and the time.

Can you remake a toy I lost?2026-09-24T17:43:21+03:00

Yes, from photos. Send every picture you can find, even old family snapshots where the toy is only in the background, and tell us the size you remember. We rebuild it from those, down to the details that made it yours. People order them to give a parent their childhood toy back, or as a spare for a child who can’t sleep without one. Lost toy replicas start from $295.

Timing & shipping

How long does a custom plush toy take?2026-09-24T17:43:14+03:00

Think of it as two numbers. Making it usually takes 2–4 weeks, depending on the toy. Some are ready sooner. You get a real estimate together with the quote. Then delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country, the courier and how close it is to a holiday.

Where do you ship, and what does delivery cost?2026-09-24T17:43:06+03:00

Worldwide: the USA, Europe, China and beyond. The price depends on the toy’s size, where you live and the delivery company; regular post typically comes to $50–60. A very large toy ships in a big box, so check someone can take in an oversized parcel. Sending it straight to someone as a surprise? Tell us and we’ll keep the packaging plain.

Will it arrive in time for a birthday or holiday?2026-09-24T17:42:59+03:00

Tell us the date when you ask for the quote, and we’ll say straight away whether it fits. Add the making time to the shipping time, and leave extra room around Christmas and other holidays, when the post slows down everywhere. We’d rather tell you honestly that it’s tight than promise a date and rush the face.

Guarantee & care

Do I see the toy before it ships?2026-09-24T17:44:29+03:00

Yes, and it costs nothing extra. When your toy is finished we send you photos of it. If something looks off, tell us and we change it, then you look again. Nothing is packed until you say it is right.

What if I still don’t love it?2026-09-24T17:42:53+03:00

You have 14 days to tell us, for any subjective reason at all. You get a full refund, and you keep the toy. No return shipping, and no explanation needed. We’ve been sewing toys to order since 2009, and that promise has a whole page of its own.

Do you keep my photos private? Will you show my toy?2026-09-24T17:42:46+03:00

Your drawings, photos and messages stay private, and we use them only to make your toy. The finished toy is different: we may show photos of the toys we make on our site and social pages. If you’d rather we didn’t show yours, just say so when you order.

How do I clean my plush?2026-09-24T17:42:39+03:00

Gently. A handmade plush does best with a spot clean: a damp cloth and a little mild soap on the mark, then let it air-dry. Keep most toys out of the washing machine and the dryer, since fur, felt details and wire don’t like a spin. Care depends on the toy, so we’ll share tips for yours when it ships.

Business & patterns

Can you make a mascot for my business or team?2026-09-24T17:42:32+03:00

Yes. Send your mascot artwork or brand character and we’ll sew it. Past ones include Hugo the Lion, a black terrier, a horse and a gray dragon for an esports team. See them all on our mascot page. If you’ll need copies made later at a factory, ask about a prototype with patterns (next question).

Can you make a prototype and patterns for manufacturing?2026-09-24T17:42:25+03:00

Yes. We sew a prototype from your sketch or concept, for a doll, an animal or any character. Once you approve it, we make the full set of patterns with detailed instructions, so any factory can reproduce your toy exactly and mass-produce it. There’s no minimum order. See Patterns & Prototypes.
