Rathalos is armour plates, spikes, wing membranes and three-clawed feet. Almost none of that wants to be a soft toy. This one became one because a Monster Hunter fan asked for it, and the first part of the job was our artist working out how to keep the wyvern recognizable in fleece. There is exactly one of him. Every Rathalos plush here is made to order for the person who asks — we don't keep a shelf of ready ones.
The monster on the box
Capcom put Rathalos on the cover of the first Monster Hunter in 2004, and he has been in the series ever since. Apex predator of the Ancient Forest in World. Rideable in Rise. In Smash Bros. Ultimate he is both a boss and an Assist Trophy, the only character in the game who is both. Fans call him the King of the Skies, and he earns it: fire from above, poison in the talons, and a habit of flying off the second you land a good hit.
Art director Kaname Fujioka has explained why he reads so clearly — the hunters are player avatars, so the monsters had to carry the game, and each one was built around a silhouette and a colour you'd remember. That is the part a plush has to get right.
From a monster to a sewing pattern
You can't hand a needle a game model. So our artist drew a simplified Monster Hunter plush version of Rathalos first: same stance, same crest, same wing shape and spiked tail, rebuilt out of pieces that hold up in fabric. The customer saw that drawing and approved it before anything was cut. It's in the gallery below — worth comparing against the finished toy.
Then it was sewn. Red body and wings, a cream-white belly and neck, navy plates around the eye, the crest in layered points, the curl markings on the wings cut and stitched on by hand, and one blue eye doing most of the expression.
Yours would be a different one
The ready-made Rathalos plushies are chibi, about the size of your hand, and many are long out of production. Fans keep asking for one big enough to actually hug. That's the gap this fills. Tell us how big you want him and which Rathalos you mean — classic red, Azure, Silver — and we'll price it before anything starts. Send a screenshot, official art or your own drawing.
He keeps company with the rest of our dragon plushies and with the other video game characters that have been sewn here. Skazkodrom is an independent studio: this is a handmade fan piece, not official Capcom merchandise.
Rathalos is made from soft plush and fleece. Fleece is what makes a monster like this work: it cuts clean and doesn't fray, so the crest points, wing markings and the spikes down his tail keep their shape instead of going fuzzy at the edges.
His eyes are plastic, glossy and domed, so he holds a look from across the room. The body is filled with soft stuffing — firm enough to stand on his own feet, soft enough to squeeze.

- Wing markings cut and stitched on by hand
Everything we use is safe and eco-friendly.
A Rathalos takes 3–4 weeks. That is the honest range for a monster with this many separate pieces, and we'd rather say four weeks than rush his head.
The drawing comes first and you approve it, so nothing is sewn from a guess. Then the pattern, then body and wings, then the slow parts: the crest, the claws, the tail spikes, the markings, and the face last — because the face is what you'll look at every day.
You see photos of the finished toy before he is packed.
We ship worldwide. Once he leaves us, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country and how quickly your customs office feels like working.
Around Christmas and other holidays the post slows down everywhere, so add time if he has a date to arrive by. Plenty of these go out as gifts — for the person whose whole shelf is Monster Hunter, or the one who has been hunting the same wyvern since the PS2. Tell us when you need him and we'll say straight away whether it fits.
We have been sewing toys to order since 2009 — longer than some of the people ordering a Rathalos have been hunting one.
Fans judge a monster plush on whether it actually reads as the monster, so that's what the process is built around: you approve the design drawing before anything is cut, and the photos before anything is shipped.
If he arrives and you don't love him, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason at all, including "he just isn't what I pictured". No argument, no restocking fee.
