What a plush prototype is

A prototype is the first real sample of a toy that will later be made in numbers. A brand, a game studio or an author sends us a sketch or a character, and we sew that sample by hand, made to order for their project. They hold it, check it and approve it before anything goes to a factory.

The toys on this page started that way: samples for a customer’s own brand or a planned run. Each one was designed for one client, so none of them sits on a shelf waiting for a buyer.

From a Sketch to a Sample a Factory Can Match

Most projects start with a drawing, a logo or a character from a game or a book. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and sews the first sample by hand. You approve it and keep it: the physical prototype stays with you, and a factory can use it as the sample to match.

Price and terms

Prototypes are priced by quote, because every character is different. A plush prototype with its full set of patterns starts from $1,500 and usually takes about a month. There is no minimum order. The patterns are fully yours, and we sign an NDA so your character stays private until you’re ready to show it.
