Football Lion Mascot Plush, Made to Order

Description

Hugo is the lion of FC Gefest, a football club. He wears the team's light blue T-shirt with the club crest on the chest, and on his back, like any player, his name and the number 10. This lion mascot plush was made to order for the club, from the first idea to the finished toy.

We don't sell ready-made lions. Hugo exists because a club wanted its own mascot, and every mascot we sew starts the same way: from your team, your colours and your idea.

From an idea to a sketch to a sample

There was no drawing to copy at the start, only the idea of a lion in the club's kit. So we did the whole cycle ourselves. First a sketch: a big rust-coloured mane, a calm face with blue eyes, the crest T-shirt and dark shorts. That sketch is the last picture on this page, so you can see what changed on the way to fabric.

Then the sketch became a sample, the first real lion. A few things were settled only in fabric:

the mane: long, shaggy orange faux fur, deep enough to frame the whole face
a soft tan face and paws, with embroidered pale-blue eyes and orange brows
the crest and the lettering embroidered, not printed
navy shorts, and little white lace-up sneakers

One for the club, one for the academy

Hugo got a twin. The second lion wears the green crest of the Gefest Academy, the club's academy. Same pattern, same mane, a different badge. That's how a mascot family usually grows: one design, then versions for an academy team, an anniversary or a cup final.

A sample like this is also where a larger run starts. Once the club is happy with it, the same lion can be sewn again in a batch, so fans can take one home from the stands.

Materials used

Hugo is sewn from safe, eco-friendly materials. We use faux fur only, never natural fur.

The mane does most of the work. It's cut from long-pile orange faux fur and set all the way round the head, so the lion looks right from the front, the side and the back. The face and paws are a short, smooth tan plush, which keeps the features clean and easy to read next to all that fur.

Lead time

A mascot like Hugo usually takes 2–4 weeks. That time includes a safety reserve, because handmade work can bring a surprise or two.

Most of it goes into the pattern and the first sample: how big the head is next to the body, how deep the mane sits, how the shirt fits over the paws. Then comes the embroidery for the crest, the name and the number, which is slow, careful work.

If we start from a sketch, as we did here, we'll tell you how long that step takes when we quote. Extras like a sound module or LED lights can add time. Need the mascot for the season opener or a club anniversary? Put the date in your request.

Delivery

We ship worldwide. Once the mascot is packed, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country, the carrier and the shipping method.

Around big holidays couriers get busy and parcels can run late. If the lion has to be there by a set date, such as the first home match, an awards night or a youth tournament, order early and tell us the date.

Terms

Since 2009 we've been sewing custom plush toys to order, including tricky characters and mascots for clubs and companies.

Mascot orders run under their own terms. Before we start, we agree on the details with you: size, kit colours, the crest, the name and number, and any extras. When the mascot is finished, you see photos of it before it ships.
