A kid lost a favorite toy: a small orange dragon with lime wings and sleepy eyes. All the family had left was a photo of it. They sent us that photo and asked for a copy, and we made a custom dragon plush to match it, as close to the original as we could get.
Nothing here came off a shelf. The dragon was made to order for one child, from one picture, in spring 2024.
From one photo to a new dragon
The photo above shows the original toy. It's a factory dragon, and you can see the store tag. Once a toy like that is lost, finding the same one again is hard. Parents search resale sites for months, and often the model just isn't made anymore.
So we drew a pattern from the picture. The round snout, the long neck, the little horn on top of the head, the wings that sit high on the back. Then we matched the colors: bright orange for the body, lime yellow for the belly, wing linings and foot pads.
The details we copied
The eyes are embroidered, with pink lids that give the dragon its drowsy look. The nostrils, the toe lines on the paws and the stripes across the belly are stitched too. Shiny purple claws sit on every foot, and a row of purple spikes runs down the back, turning orange along the tail.
A copy like this doesn't need the lost toy in your hands. A clear photo is enough to start, and every extra picture helps: the back, the feet, a worn spot your child always holds.

The dragon is sewn from soft, short-pile orange plush, the same bright shade as the toy in the photo. The belly, chin, wing linings and foot pads are a lime-yellow plush, so the colors split the way they did on the original.

The filling is hypoallergenic and the toy is meant to be carried around and hugged. If you want other colors, a different size or extras such as a sound module, ask when you order. We use faux fur only, never real fur.
A dragon like this one usually takes 2–4 weeks.
First we study your photo, work out the proportions and build a pattern: how long the neck is, how big the head is next to the body, where the wings attach. With a replica, small things like the angle of the eyes decide whether a child says "that's him".
Then we sew, embroider the face and add the claws and spikes. The time frame includes a reserve for handmade surprises, so if you're counting down to a birthday, tell us the date early.
We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Mail slows down around the holidays, so plan extra time then.
When a child is waiting for a lost friend to come back, every week feels long. Add the sewing time to the shipping time and count back from the day you want the dragon home. For Christmas, order by November 1.
Before we pack it, you get photos of the finished toy. If something needs fixing, that's the moment to say so.
