This brown bear was a present from a guy to his girlfriend. It wasn't a random teddy from a shop shelf. We sewed it by hand, based on a toy that had been lost, and dressed it in a T-shirt with a name on the front: Dinya. We posted it in May 2020.
That's the whole idea of a custom teddy bear from photos. You send pictures of the bear that's gone, or the one you remember, and we make a new one for you. One toy, made to order for one person.
What we built
The body is curly brown faux fur with a slightly rough, nubbly texture. The muzzle, inner ears, paw pads and foot soles are a smooth tan plush, so the face and paws stand out. Black bead eyes, a brown nose and a stitched smile give him a calm, friendly look.
He can sit with his legs stretched out or stand on his own feet, and he holds his arms out as if he wants a hug.
The T-shirt is what makes him personal: white, with lime-green trim on the collar and sleeves, a green-and-yellow heart, and the name in green letters underneath.
When the old bear is gone
People spend years looking for a lost toy. They set alerts on resale sites and scroll through old listings, and often the exact bear just never turns up. A remake doesn't need the original in hand. Clear photos are enough, even old ones, plus anything you remember about size, color and the little worn spots.
You can also ask for:
- a T-shirt, sweater or scarf with a name or a date
- a heart or a short message on the chest
- a different fur color, or a size close to the original
We agree on every detail with you before sewing, and you see photos of the finished bear before it ships.
More second chances live in our lost toy replicas, and more presents for a partner in love gift plush. Still searching? Read what to do about a lost stuffed animal.
The bear is made of two fabrics that feel different under your hand. The body is curly brown faux fur, short and nubbly, the kind of texture that looks like an old, well-loved teddy. The muzzle, ears, paw pads and soles are a smooth tan plush.
- Curly brown faux fur body, arms, legs and head
- Smooth tan plush for the muzzle, inner ears, paws and soles
- Black bead eyes, a brown nose and an embroidered smile
- A white T-shirt with green trim, a heart and a name
We use faux fur only, never real fur, and the filling is hypoallergenic. If the lost toy had something special, like a sound, a squeaky paw, wire in the arms for posing or an embroidered tag, tell us at the start so we sew it in.
A bear like this usually takes 2β4 weeks.
First we study your photos and build a pattern from them. Matching a lost toy is mostly about proportions: how big the head is next to the body, where the ears sit, how long the snout is. Then we sew the body and work on the face, which takes the most care, because a millimeter in the eyes or the smile changes who he is.
Clothes come last. The time frame includes a reserve for handmade surprises, so if the bear is for a birthday or an anniversary, tell us the date early.
We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7β20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Around the holidays mail gets slower, so leave extra time.
This bear was a gift for a girlfriend, and many teddy bears go out for Valentine's Day, birthdays and anniversaries. Add the sewing time to the shipping time and count back from your date. For Christmas, order by November 1.
Before we pack him, you get photos of the finished bear. If something should be changed, it's easy to fix at that point.
We've been sewing custom plush since 2009. Some of those toys started as a few photos of a bear or a bunny that wasn't around anymore.
A replica is personal. That's why you approve the details before we start and see photos of the finished bear before it ships. If you still don't love him, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.
Only have one blurry photo from years ago? Send it anyway. We'll ask questions and fill the gaps with what you remember.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
