Big enough to hug back
Our first Toothless in these photos stands 45 cm (17.7 in) tall and 60 cm (23.6 in) long. He's sewn from soft fleece, with a wire skeleton inside his paws and wings. So he can stand on his own, sit, or crouch like he's about to take off. Fold his wings for a nap on the bed, or spread them wide on a shelf.

Toothless with his tongue out
We've sewn Toothless more than once, and no two came out the same. The newest one, made in 2024, is the familiar Night Fury with one small cheeky detail: a pink tongue sticking out. That one change makes him livelier and funnier, a bit of a rascal, like he's just pulled a face at Hiccup.
He's sewn from fleece and eco-leather, in a mottled charcoal-black with a soft sheen, and he has huge yellow-green eyes, rows of spines down his back and tail, and glossy black claws. Sometimes one little detail is all it takes to give a favourite character a personality of his own.
Which Toothless is yours?
So the gallery shows more than one dragon. Our earlier Toothless has big yellow eyes and matte black fleece. Another has green eyes like in the films, with spines running down his back and tail. The cheeky 2024 one sits with his tongue out.
Yours can follow whichever movie you love most: the 2010 original, the sequels or the 2025 live-action film. A few things fans ask for:
- yellow, yellow-green or green eyes
- a tongue sticking out, or the gummy "toothless" grin
- a red tail fin, like the one Hiccup built for him
- a saddle
- a little fish to carry, or glowing eyes
- a Light Fury to keep him company
The Night Fury who acts like a cat
In DreamWorks' How to Train Your Dragon (2010), Toothless is a Night Fury, a dragon so rare nobody on Berk has seen one up close. Hiccup names him after his retractable teeth: he looks toothless until they slide out. His design borrows from a black panther, with big eyes and ears that show every mood, and fans have called him a giant cat ever since. Sound designer Randy Thom built his voice from elephants, dogs, big cats and his own voice.
That face is what we work hardest on: the wide eyes, the snub nose, the grin. Send us a picture or a drawing of the Toothless you have in mind, and tell us the size and extras you want. The dragon we sew will be the only one like it.

Your Toothless is sewn from fleece. It's soft and warm, and its matte black suits a Night Fury. It also holds up to hugs, so he can live on a bed and not only on a shelf.
What's inside:
- a wire skeleton in the paws and wings, so you can pose him and fold or spread his wings
- soft stuffing that gives him his shape and a good squeeze
Our cheeky 2024 Toothless adds eco-leather to the fleece, which gives his mottled charcoal-black body a soft sheen next to the matte parts.
The seams are stitched to last, and we take our time over the eyes, claws and tail fins, the small parts that make fans say "that's him". Extras like a little fish or glowing eyes are made to match your dragon. Everything we use is safe and eco-friendly.
A Toothless like this usually takes 3–4 weeks to make.
He's a big, complex toy. The wire for the wings and paws has to sit inside so he can still be posed, the ribbed wings take careful sewing, and the face needs patience. The eyes, the grin and the little nubs on his head decide whether you get Toothless or just a black dragon.
A giant Toothless or a lot of extras can take longer. Before he ships, we send you a photo to approve.
Once your Toothless is finished and you've approved the photo, we pack him and send him out. Delivery time depends on where you live, the shipping company and method, and the time of year. It can take up to 20 business days, though sometimes only 7.
Around the holidays couriers get swamped and delays happen. If your dragon is a birthday or Christmas present, count back from the big day: sewing time plus delivery time.
