We keep no shelf of ready dragons. Every one is sewn to order, and this Cynder came in as a list of demands from a fan of The Legend of Spyro. She had to curl up. Sit up. Stand square on all four legs, then rear up on her hind legs. Spread her wings and fold them again. Flex her tail and her neck. And the claws had to work: open, close, and hold on with a slight grip.

That is not a plush order, that is a brief. The hard part of a Cynder is not sewing a dragon. It is making a soft toy hold a pose and still be soft. We remade her several times before she did everything on the list. The photos are what came out of it. In one she is lying on her back with all four legs bent in different directions; in another her front paw is closed around a teaspoon.

The grown Cynder, not the little one

This is the adult dragoness that Malefor's dark magic corrupted and aged in A New Beginning — the villain Spyro later freed, who fights beside him by Dawn of the Dragon. You can read it off her head: six silver-gray horns plus the small extra pair on her cheeks, and the white-outlined markings across her forehead, sewn by hand and filled with purple sequins. The small freed version is a different toy, and we sewed a desk-sized Cynder later.

Black, or purple?

Fans still argue about this one. Cynder is written as a black dragon and the characters call her that, but on consoles in Dawn of the Dragon she came out deep violet. The team has said the old engine could not show her properly, and a black dragon simply vanished on screen. Our fabric goes both ways: iridescent purple-black that reads near-black across a room and flashes violet when the light catches the sequins.

We know you will check

People who love this character audit a Cynder in about two seconds. Eye color, horn count, whether the belly scutes match the wing membranes, whether the tail tip is a notched blade. Ours has blue-teal eyes and a pink belly and wing membranes; the games give her jade-green eyes and red. Tell us which of those matter to you before we cut any fabric.

Every dragon we make is made to order, so send us a picture of yours. Cynder, another dragon out of the games, or one that only exists in your sketchbook. More dragons we have sewn.

This is a handmade fan piece by an independent studio, not an official or licensed Activision product.

Her body is a stretch fabric covered in fine sequins, which is where the oil-slick shift from near-black to violet comes from. Belly, throat and wing membranes are pink satin. Horns and claws are shaped by hand in silver-gray and stiffened so they keep their points.

Wire runs through the wings, tail, neck, legs and every toe. That is what holds a position, while the stuffing around it stays soft enough to squash when you pick her up.

Everything is made from safe, eco-friendly materials. On request we can change the scale color, swap the sequins for a matte fabric, add embroidery, a sound module or LED eyes, and pack her in a collector's gift box.

Sewing usually takes 2–4 weeks. On a poseable dragon most of that goes into structure rather than stitching: fitting the pattern, anchoring the wire so it cannot work its way out through the fabric, shaping the horns and claws one at a time.

Then she gets tested. Stood up, curled, reared onto her hind legs, wings opened and folded, until she holds every position she should. You see photos before she is boxed. Times shift from toy to toy, which is why we say usually.

Shipping runs 7–20 business days, depending on where you are, which carrier you pick and how close the order sits to a holiday season, when couriers slow down and parcels queue.

She ships boxed with her wings folded against her body and the wire left relaxed. If a pose has shifted on the way, bend it back with your hands. That is what the wire is for.

We ship worldwide. If she is a present, tell us the date you need her by and we will say straight away whether it works.

We have been making complex plush to order since 2009, and a dragon like this is the order that shows whether a maker can do it. Anyone can sew a purple dragon. Not everyone can sew one that rears up on its hind legs and still hugs like a toy.

If the toy arrives and you do not love it, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason at all. No questions, no explaining yourself.

It rarely comes to that, because you approve photos of her before she leaves us.

Why?

No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.

Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.

Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.

You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.

One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.

That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
