What custom plush toys are popular for special occasions like weddings and anniversaries?
For a wedding or an anniversary, people order a plush of the couple themselves: bride and groom dolls with their faces, a pair of animals in a veil and a tux, a plush of their pet, or a toy from their own inside joke. At SKAZKODROM each one is sewn by hand to order, from $350. Making usually takes 2β4 weeks, and delivery 7β20 business days.
We don’t keep ready couples on a shelf. You send photos or a picture and the date, we sew the toy for those two people, and you see photos of it before it ships. These are the wedding and anniversary plush people order from us most:
- Bride and groom dolls. Wedding dolls with faces painted from the couple’s photos, from $400 a pair.
- The couple as animals. A badger bride and a squirrel groom, from $320 a pair.
- Their pet. A plush of their dog or cat, sewn from photos, from $390.
- Their own joke. The sticker they send each other, a tattoo, a doodle. Our love gift plush start from $305.
Planning for a birthday instead? That has its own guide: custom plush for birthdays.
Can you make bride and groom dolls that look like the couple?
Yes. Our bride and groom dolls are soft cloth dolls with the faces of two real people, painted on fabric from their photos, down to the eyelashes and the pink of the lips. The pair on this page has a bride with long wavy honey-blonde hair, a sheer veil and a bouquet of pale pink rosebuds, and a groom in a black suit with a bow tie.
Dolls at weddings are an old habit. In Russia and other Slavic countries, little rag dolls were hung on the newlyweds’ carriage for luck, and later a doll rode on the hood of the wedding car. Ours just add a likeness.
Send a few clear photos of the bride and groom, and photos of the dress and suit they’ll wear on the day if you have them. We work out the design, you approve it, and then we sew. A pair like this starts from $400. Our portrait dolls are usually 30β50 cm (12β20 in) tall and start from $365 for one doll. Can a wedding plush be two animals instead of the couple?
Yes, and some couples like that better. In 2010 a customer wanted something more original than a toaster for the newlyweds, so we sewed a badger bride and a squirrel groom. She wears a ruffled white veil with a pink rose over one ear. He has a black tuxedo jacket, a rose on the lapel and a huge fluffy tail. Their paws have long separate fingers, so the two can hold hands.
Any two animals can get married this way, real or made up. Maybe the bride has an animal nickname, or the couple keep a cat, or they met on a hike. The size is yours too, from a small pair for the cake table to one you hug with both arms. A pair like the badger and squirrel starts from $320.
A couple doesn’t have to be dressed for a wedding, either. One young couple chose two little foxes as the talisman of their relationship and sent us their picture. The fox couple came out as one orange fox and one cream fox with turquoise antlers, and their noses meet in the middle.
What custom plush makes a good anniversary gift?
The best anniversary plush is something only the two of you would get. A few that customers ordered from us:
- Their tattoo. One man wore a tattoo of a big bear hugging a small hedgehog, and wanted the same hug for his girlfriend to hold. We needle felted the bear and hedgehog from wool. The hedgehog holds a red heart that fits a hidden pocket in the bear’s chest. Wool is also the traditional gift for a 7th wedding anniversary on both the US and UK anniversary lists.
- A picture they love. Another man found a drawing of two round little birds leaning into each other, and we sewed it as the love doves for his girlfriend, with a letter embroidered on each belly.
- Their private joke. Larry from Washington DC ordered a hamburger man with googly eyes and big red shoes as a present for his wife.
- Their pet. A plush of the dog or cat they share, sewn from photos, from $390. One customer ordered an anime doll of his girlfriend together with a plush of her little corgi. More on pet plush in your pet as a plush.
- Her, as a doll. A portrait doll with four felt wigs, for a girlfriend who changes her hair color every month.
Any of these can carry a name, your wedding date or a short message, embroidered or on a printed tag. A secret pocket for a note, a sound module that plays a voice you recorded and LED lights are possible on request.
“I canβt wait to give it to my wife next week. Tony was a pleasure to work with and delivered more than promised.”

What custom plush do people give for an engagement or Valentine’s Day?
For a proposal, the plush can hold the ring. A couple kept sending each other the same hamster sticker, so we sewed that hamster as a real toy holding a little red ring box. Open the lid and a small light glows inside, right where the ring sits. The proposal hamster starts from $330. We sewed the hamster. The question was up to them.
For Valentine’s Day, people often order the sticker or character they already send each other every day. Our dinosaur with a heart is about 30 cm (12 in) tall, with a small door in his belly and a red heart behind it, from $355. A dinosaur fits plenty of couples: one woman’s fiancΓ© gives her a new dino plush every Valentine’s Day. More ideas for two are in our love gift plush.
How far ahead should I order a custom plush for a wedding or anniversary?
Order a custom wedding or anniversary plush about two months before the date to be safe. Here is where the time goes:
- Design: for portrait dolls and couple pairs, you approve the design before we cut any fabric. Answer quickly and you save days.
- Making: usually 2β4 weeks. A pair means two toys, two outfits and two faces, and the estimate keeps a small reserve for handmade surprises.
- Delivery: usually 7β20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Regular post usually costs $50β60 and is paid separately.
- Holidays: couriers get busy around Christmas and Valentine’s Day, so leave a few spare days if your date falls near one.
Put the wedding or anniversary date in your first message, and we’ll tell you straight away whether it fits. For a December anniversary or a Christmas gift, order by November 1. More on our Christmas plush page.
What do I need to send to order wedding dolls or a couple plush?
For a free quote, send a picture of what you want made, the date and the size. More detail helps:
- Bride and groom dolls: clear photos of both faces, the hair, and the wedding dress and suit if you have them
- The couple as animals: which animals, what they wear, and the couple’s colors or flowers
- Their pet: clear photos of the face from both sides, plus close-ups of any markings
- A sticker, tattoo or drawing: the picture itself, the best one you have
- Size: in cm or inches. A small pair for the cake table, or one big enough to hug
- Extras: names, the wedding date, a message, a recorded voice, a pocket, a ring box

Custom toys start from $350.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
