"Bulochka" on a red heart

This Jerry was made as a love gift. The word on his heart is "Булочка" (Bulochka), Russian for "little bun": the sweet nickname of the woman he was made for. The heart is soft red plush with dark stitched lines around a pale label, and the name is embroidered right on it.

Yours can say anything. Her name, the nickname only the two of you use, a date, a word that means something to you both. We can embroider any name or word you like.

The little mouse who always wins

Jerry first showed up in 1940, in MGM's cartoon Puss Gets the Boot by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. He didn't even have a name yet. The cat-and-mouse shorts went on to win seven Academy Awards, and in 1945 Jerry danced with Gene Kelly in the musical Anchors Aweigh. A small brown house mouse who beats a cat three times his size, mostly without a line of dialogue.

Our Jerry keeps the look people remember: rust-brown plush, huge round ears with beige insides, a tan muzzle and a tan heart-shaped belly, dreamy half-closed eyes with lashes, thin whiskers and a long curling tail. His fingers are sewn one by one, so he can wave, point or hold the heart close.

Not a souvenir, a message

You can buy a Jerry plush in a shop. You can't buy one holding a heart with her name on it. That's the whole idea: a warm, very personal way to say it. It works for a birthday, an anniversary, Valentine's Day, or any ordinary evening when you just want to say "I love you".

Materials used

Jerry is sewn from soft short-pile plush in a warm rust-brown, the colour of the cartoon mouse. His big round ears are lined with taupe-beige plush, and the same light tan goes on his muzzle, chin and heart-shaped belly patch. The nose is glossy black, the eyes are half-closed with little lashes, and thin whiskers stick out on both sides.

The heart is bright red plush with dark stitched lines and a pale label, and the name is embroidered on that label. We fill everything with soft stuffing, so he's nice to hug and still keeps his shape standing on a shelf.

Lead time

Your Jerry usually takes 2–4 weeks to make. That covers the pattern for your size, cutting and sewing the body, the big ears and the tail, embroidering the name on the heart, and the slow part: the sleepy, slightly cheeky face.

The estimate has a little reserve built in, because handmade work sometimes needs an extra evening. When Jerry is finished, we send you photos before shipping, so you can check the name on the heart before anyone else sees it.

Delivery

How long delivery takes depends on where you live, the courier and the shipping method. It can take up to 20 business days, and sometimes only 7.

Around holidays couriers get busy and parcels can run late. If Jerry is a gift for a fixed date, like her birthday, your anniversary or Valentine's Day, order with time to spare. A love note that arrives a week late still counts, but on time is better.
