Custom Voodoo Doll Merch for an Artist

Description

A performer wanted a little character of their own, something fans would recognize at once. We sewed this custom voodoo doll to order for them: plain cream canvas, one button eye, a stitched grin and a big black K on the chest. It's made as artist merch, so it's a fan gift, not a curse. The only spell it casts is on the audience.

What it looks like

The doll is small enough to sit in your palm. Every detail is there to look patched together on purpose:

one eye is a black stitched X, the other a big black button sewn on with pale thread
a long black stitched smile that climbs up to the button
a frayed patch on top of the head with loose threads sticking out
a frayed chest patch carrying the bold letter K
hand-drawn black "stitch scars" on the arms, a leg and the belly

The frayed edges are planned. A neat voodoo doll would look wrong.

Its photo shoot

The doll then went to work. The artist took it into a moody shoot with candles, old books, fake cobwebs and stage smoke, and it rode on their shoulder for the portraits. Those shots are in the gallery, next to our own photos of the doll.

Your own voodoo doll plush

Musicians, bloggers and brands use a doll like this the same way: as a mascot people can hold. We can put your letter, logo or symbol on the chest, change the fabric, swap the button for another color and make it any size. A small doll can also become a keychain. Send a sketch, a logo or just a description, and we'll work out the pattern and sew it by hand.

Materials used

This doll is sewn from plain cream cotton canvas, the classic rag-doll look. The weave shows, and that's the point.

For your version we can match the canvas to your brand colors, embroider the letter or logo, or sew it on as a patch. A key ring, a sound module or a small LED can be added on request.

Lead time

A single doll usually takes 2–4 weeks. Most of that time goes into the pattern and the hand-stitched face, and a design that has to match your logo needs a little more care.

Ordering a batch for a tour, a release or an event? The first sample usually takes 4–6 weeks. You approve it, and only then do we sew the rest.

Our estimate already has room for handmade surprises. If the dolls are needed for a show date or a photo shoot, tell us the date when you ask for a quote.

Delivery

We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Couriers slow down before big holidays, so leave some room.

Merch usually has a date attached: a concert, a release, a fan meet. Count back from that day, making time first, then shipping. Planning dolls for Halloween merch? Ask early. For anything tied to Christmas or New Year, order by November 1.

Before anything ships, you get photos of the finished doll. That's the moment to look closely and tell us what you think.

Terms

We've made toys to order since 2009, from photos, drawings and logos. Mascots and merch for artists, companies and events are a regular part of that work.

Before we start, we go through the design with you: size, fabric, colors, the letter or logo, and what has to stay exactly as drawn. There's no minimum order. For a batch, we sew one sample first and you approve it. When the dolls are ready, you see photos of them before they ship.
