Giant Lobster Plush, 170 cm Bar Mascot

Description

A bright company toy is a good way to get people's attention, and we always enjoy these orders. We like business owners with a creative streak.

This time a bar asked us for a lobster. A big one. This giant lobster plush stands about 170 cm (5 ft 7 in) tall, roughly the height of a grown-up, and it was sewn to order for a marketing promotion in 2023. Nobody walks past a thing like this without looking.

In Russian we called it a рак, a crayfish. With claws like these, most English speakers would say lobster, so lobster it is here.

Built to stand on its own

The lobster stands upright on a small black base, tail down and claws up, as if it's about to wave at the bar's guests. The two claws are huge and padded, with white zigzag teeth along the inner edge so the pincers read from across the room.

Under the claws come four pairs of thin walking legs, each with a curled tip, and two long antennae that sweep down past the body. The head has small black bead eyes and a short spiky crest. The body and tail are sewn in segments, and the tail ends in a wide fan. It's all one shade of bright red, the colour everyone knows from the seafood menu.

The photo with a teenager standing behind it gives you the scale. He fits between the claws with room to spare.

Why a giant lobster works for a venue

A poster gets a glance. A 170 cm lobster by the door gets photos, and those photos end up on guests' phones with the bar in the background. That is most of the job a promo character has to do.

Materials used

The lobster is sewn from soft short-pile plush in one bright red.

For your mascot, send your brand colours and we'll match the fabric as closely as we can. A logo can be embroidered on the toy or on a scarf, apron or tag. Sound modules and LED lights can be added on request.

Lead time

A large mascot plush usually takes 2–4 weeks to make.

Most of that time goes into the pattern. A toy this tall has to stand on its own and hold its claws up, so we work out the shape and the balance before we cut any fabric. Then we sew, stuff and finish the small parts: the legs, the antennae, the eyes.

When a company orders a batch, we always sew one sample first. You approve it, and only then do we make the rest. If you need the mascot for an opening or a promotion, tell us the date when you ask for a quote.

Delivery

We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Around big holidays couriers slow down, so leave some extra time.

Planning a launch, a promo night or a seasonal campaign? Count back from that date and add the making time to the shipping. For New Year and Christmas, order by November 1.

Before anything ships, you get photos of the finished mascot. We pack a toy this size so it arrives in shape.

Terms

We've been making toys to order since 2009. Mascots for bars, shops, companies and events are a regular part of that work.

Before we start, we go through the idea with you: the size, the colours, the pose, where the logo goes, whether it needs to stand on its own. For a batch you approve one sample first. When the toy is ready, you see photos of it before it ships.
