Restaurant Mascot Plush for a Dumpling Place

Description

A dumpling restaurant asked us for a mascot, and we made this curly white chef as a restaurant mascot plush, sewn by hand to order for them. The brief was short and not easy: one character had to carry the feeling of eating at home as a kid. A warm kitchen, home cooking, someone looking after you.

Home, in one character

Every detail points there. He has a soft, round, kind shape and a wide open smile. He wears a white chef's hat, a red neckerchief and a brown apron with the restaurant's slogan across the front. In one hand he holds a little white cup on a saucer, and the other hand is out as if he's waving you in.

We wanted guests to trust him on sight, not just think he's cute. The look we were going for: they've set the table and they're waiting for you.

Curly, soft, warm

Most of the work went into fabrics and texture. His body is creamy white curly faux fur, a bit like a lamb's coat, so he feels nice in the hand and looks warm and alive from across the room. The hands, feet and face are smooth pale pink fabric, and the apron is plain brown fabric with crossed straps on the back, like a real cook's apron.

What a mascot does for a café

A character like this becomes part of the place. Guests take photos with him, want to hug him, and remember where they saw him. For a restaurant, that's the whole job of a mascot: help the place stand out and stay in people's heads.

Your mascot, sewn

Materials used

The mascot is sewn from creamy white curly faux fur with smooth fabric details.

For your mascot we match the fabrics to your brand colors as closely as we can. A logo, a slogan or a name can go on an apron, a T-shirt, a tag or a badge. Sound modules and LED lights can be added on request.

Lead time

A single mascot usually takes 2–4 weeks. A good part of that goes into the character itself: shape, face, clothes and the little props that tell guests who he is.

Ordering a batch? The first sample usually takes 4–6 weeks. You approve it, and only then do we sew the rest.

Our estimate already has a reserve for handmade surprises. If you need the mascot for an opening, a new menu or an anniversary, tell us the date when you ask for a quote. We take urgent orders.

Delivery

We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Couriers slow down before big holidays, so leave some room.

A restaurant mascot usually has a date attached: an opening, a new location, a holiday season. Count back from that day, making time first, then shipping. For anything tied to Christmas or New Year, order by November 1.

Before anything ships, you get photos of the finished mascot, so you know exactly what's arriving.

Terms

We've made toys to order since 2009, from photos, drawings and ideas. Mascots for cafés, stores, clubs and companies are a regular part of that work.

Before we start, we talk through the character with you: the size, the colors, the clothes and what he should say about your place. There is no minimum order. For a batch, we sew one sample first and you approve it. When the mascot is ready, you see photos of it before it ships.
