This blue phoenix is a custom bird plush we sewed in 2025 for an e-book service. Their mascot lived only as a drawing: a round blue bird on a striped sofa, coffee on the side, phone in hand. They wanted the same bird in plush. We made it to order, from that one picture.

A phoenix that reads on its phone

In the old myths the phoenix burns and rises again from its own ashes. Herodotus wrote the story down in the 5th century BC. This one has a gentler routine. It comes back to life every time someone downloads a new book.

Its job, according to the client, is keeper of digital knowledge. It's always online so it won't miss a new release, it reads e-books, and it swears it isn't scrolling TikTok. It also checks that you read at least one chapter a day instead of watching memes until 3 a.m. Skip reading for a week and it starts to look at you a bit suspiciously.

From a flat drawing to a round bird

A drawing shows one side of a character. A toy needs all of them. We worked out the back, the seat and how the long legs fold, then cut a pattern for that pear-shaped body.

  • Dark teal body in a mottled plush that looks like soft feathers
  • Light blue head with a crest and a scalloped collar
  • Embroidered eyes and a big yellow beak
  • Long feathered wing-hands that hold the phone
  • A turquoise phone the bird can hold or set down beside it

Your mascot, sewn the same way

If your brand has a character on a logo, an app screen or a sticker, we can sew it. Send the drawing, tell us the size and how many you need. We sew small runs ourselves, usually up to about 200 pieces, with no minimum, so one toy for the office shelf is fine too.

More examples: our custom mascot plush page, the black owl-cat mascot sewn from a logo, and plush toys made from drawings.

The phoenix is sewn from soft plush in two blues. The body uses a dark teal fabric with a mottled pile, so the light catches it unevenly and it reads as feathers without a single printed line.

  • Dark teal mottled plush for the body, wings, legs and crest
  • Bright light blue plush for the head and the scalloped collar
  • Yellow fabric for the beak, shaped and stuffed to keep its form
  • Embroidered eyes and brows, nothing glued on
  • A separate turquoise phone with a textured cover

The filling is hypoallergenic. For your own mascot we match fabrics to your brand colors and use the same ones for every piece in a run.

A single mascot like this usually takes 2–4 weeks.

Most of the early time goes into the pattern. A drawing shows the front, so we work out how the character looks from the side and the back, and how it sits. Then we sew and stuff it. The face goes last: the eyes decide whether it still looks like your character.

A run takes longer than one toy. Tell us the number and your deadline when you ask for a quote, and we'll give you a realistic schedule before we start.

We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on the country and the carrier. Around the holidays couriers slow down, so leave extra time.

Mascots tend to have a date attached: a launch, a trade show, a company birthday, a photo shoot for the app store. Count back from that day, adding the making time and the shipping.

Before anything ships, you get photos of the finished toy.

We've been sewing toys to order since 2009, and brand mascots are a regular part of that work.

You approve the design before we cut any fabric. Before shipping you see photos of the finished toy, so you know your character came out right. We never show a client's brand name on our site.
