This superhero cat plush came to us as a drawing. A customer sent a picture of a grey cat in a red mask, a blue suit and a red cape, hands on hips, ready to save someone. We sewed him by hand from that picture, one toy, made to order for the person who sent it. Nothing here waits on a shelf. Every toy starts with someone's idea.
We made him in 2015, and he's still one of our favorites, mostly because of the face: a hero who wins you over by being cute.
From the drawing to the toy
The drawing was painted, with a scratchy pencil texture on the fur and a cape that flies out to one side. Fabric doesn't do pencil texture, so the grey went into soft faux fur. The mask kept its shape exactly: one red piece over the eyes that runs up into two tall pointed ears. The rest followed the picture closely.

His arms are bent so the gloves rest on his hips. That pose was in the drawing, and it does most of the talking.
Your own hero, in plush
People ask us for heroes all the time. Some have a character from a comic they drew as kids. Some want their own cat in a cape, because let's be honest, the cat already acts like it runs the house. Some just have a sketch of a mascot with a cape and a letter on the chest.
Send us the picture, even a rough one. We'll sew a custom superhero plush in any colors and any size, with the emblem you want. The superhero cat mixes fur and smooth fabric, the way the drawing mixed fluffy and flat:
- Grey faux fur for the face, the back of the head and the tail
- Smooth red fabric for the mask with its tall ears, and for the cape
- Bright blue fabric for the suit, with the black fish sewn onto the chest
- Glossy black faux leather for the gloves and the pointed boots
The eyes are blue and shiny, set behind the mask openings so he looks a little sideways. The nose is pink and the smile is stitched by hand. Filling is hypoallergenic, and we only use faux fur, never real.
Your hero might need a different emblem, a longer cape or a shiny suit. Tell us at the start, along with extras like a sound module or LED eyes, since those go in while we sew.
A superhero cat like this one usually takes 2–4 weeks.
First we work out the pattern from your drawing: how big the head is next to the body, where the ears sit, how long the cape falls. Then the suit and the body, the gloves and boots, and the cape, which is made as a separate piece.
The face comes last. The mask has to sit exactly right over the eyes, or the expression changes. The time frame includes a small reserve for handmade surprises. If you have a date in mind, put it in your first message.
We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Around the holidays couriers slow down, so it can take longer.
A hero in a cape makes a good birthday gift for the person who drew him, or for a kid who wears a towel as a cape around the house. Add the making time to the delivery time and count back from the day. For Christmas, order by November 1.
