A customer sent us a photo of a strange little creature and asked for a soft toy of it. A snail-rabbit, we decided. Or a rabbit-snail. So now it's a snail-rabbit plush, and its name is simple: Zuzya.
Nothing here was on a shelf waiting. Zuzya was made to order for one person, from that one photo, the way every toy in our studio starts.
What Zuzya looks like
He's big, very soft and completely harmless. The body is brown, with stitched wrinkles that make him look like he's been around for a while. Two long eye stalks grow out of his head. One eye is green, the other yellow, and we made both by hand for this toy. Below them sit a black nose, two buck teeth and a round belly, plus long flat feet that keep him sitting up on his own.
Snail fans have a pet peeve: plush snails often get their eyes on the head instead of on the stalks. Zuzya has them where they belong.
So ugly it's cute
Some people love their plush in an "ugly, but mine" way. A wrinkled snail-rabbit with mismatched eyes is that kind of toy.
Snails and rabbits have shared a page before. Medieval monks doodled knights fighting giant snails and rabbits chasing hunters in the margins of their books. Zuzya skips the fight and is both at once.
Your own creature, from a photo
If you have a creature that exists in one picture only, send it to us. It can be a figure, a sculpture, a doodle or a character you made up. We work out the parts the photo doesn't show, then sew the toy by hand. You can choose the size, the shade of the body and small extras like an embroidered name.
The creature stays yours. We only make the plush. See other OC plush we've sewn, more fantasy creature plushies, or everything we've made from a picture.
Zuzya is sewn from safe, premium materials and filled with hypoallergenic stuffing.
- Soft brown fabric with a suede look, gathered and stitched into wrinkles
- Handmade eyes on long stalks, one green and one yellow
- A black nose and two white buck teeth
- Reinforced seams, so the stalks and feet stay put
For your own snail-rabbit or any other creature, you can pick the size and the shade of the body, from light to dark brown or any color you need. We can add a small accessory like a bow or a flower, an embroidered name tag, or a short message on the belly.
A creature like Zuzya usually takes 2β4 weeks to make.
When all we have is one photo, we start by working out the rest: the back, the sides, the size, how the toy will sit. Then we draw the pattern, cut the fabric and sew.
The eyes take the longest. They're made by hand for each toy and then set on the stalks so they look the right way. The time includes a small reserve for surprises, because handmade work has them. Need the toy by a certain date? Tell us in your first message.
We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7β20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier.
Holidays slow couriers down, so give yourself extra room. For Christmas, order by November 1.
A plush of a creature that only exists in someone's photo or imagination makes a funny, personal gift. Add the making time and the delivery time together and count back from the day you need it.
Before Zuzya or your creature ships, you get photos of the finished toy.
We've been sewing custom toys since 2009, and plenty of them were creatures nobody had made before.
When a toy starts from one photo, you're the one who knows how it should look. That's why you see photos of the finished plush before it ships. If you don't love it, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.
Not sure your photo shows enough? Send it anyway and ask. A detail is easy to settle while we draw the pattern.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
