This blue frog plush began as a drawing: a cobalt frog with a turquoise belly, a toothy grin and black sunglasses. A customer sent it to us, and we sewed the frog by hand, made to order for that one person. He was never on a shelf. Every toy on this site starts the same way, with what you send us.
Nobody sells this frog, and that's the point. If a character lives only in your sketchbook, on a napkin or in your kid's art folder, the only way to hug it is to have it sewn.
What we took from the drawing

The blue poison dart frog lives in small patches of forest in southern Suriname, and no two have the same spots. Ours is the friendly version. Softer, and a lot more relaxed about life. Your drawing, your plush
Send a drawing, a doodle or a few sketches from different sides. A front view is enough to start. If the back is a mystery, we'll ask how you picture it. You can change the colors or the accessories: a hat instead of sunglasses, a ribbit sound, arms that hold a pose. He comes small, medium or large, and we can embroider a name or initials on him. You see photos of the finished toy before it ships.

The frog is sewn from soft fleece in two blues: royal blue for the body, turquoise for the belly and spots. Fleece holds bright color well and feels smooth and warm in your hands. The stuffing is hypoallergenic and packed firm enough that he keeps his square shape when he sits.
The face and the sunglasses carry the character, so they get their own materials:
- White fabric eyes with black pupils and heavy blue lids
- A white toothy grin sewn onto the blue
- Black felt sunglasses with silver stripes

A frog like this usually takes 2–4 weeks to make.
Most of that time goes into turning a flat drawing into a pattern. A sketch shows one side, but a plush needs all of them, so we work out how the head, belly and legs fit together before any fabric is cut. Then we sew him and add the spots.
The face goes last. The grin and the heavy eyelids set his whole mood. The time frame includes a reserve for handmade surprises, so tell us your date in your first message.
We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Around the holidays couriers get busy, and parcels can run late.
A plush from a drawing is often a gift: for the kid who drew it, or for an artist whose character finally exists. Add the making time to the delivery time and count back from the day you need it. For Christmas, order by November 1.
Before he leaves the studio, we send you photos of the finished frog. Then we pack him so the sunglasses arrive in one piece.
