Ask people who love griffins and you hear the same thing: a good griffin plush is hard to find. The beak is wrong, the wings are felt flaps, or it's a lion with a bird's face glued on. This white griffin was made to order for one customer, from a picture they sent and a list of their wishes. Nothing here sits on a shelf waiting. Every toy starts with what you tell us.

What we sewed

  • A soft white body on four strong legs, with black claws on every paw
  • A cream faux fur crest on the head and a fluffy cream ruff over the shoulders
  • Big green eyes, ears with dark tips and a glossy black hooked beak
  • Feathered wings: stiff white feathers with black stripes and tips, set in faux fur
  • A long lion's tail ending in a black-and-white tuft

The wings open out from the back, so he can stand like he's about to take off or fold up for a cuddle. In the studio we still call him our soft, kind little griffin.

Griffin, gryphon or griffon?

All three spellings mean the same creature: the body and tail of a lion with the head and wings of an eagle. The king of beasts plus the king of birds. Griffins show up in Egyptian and Mesopotamian art about 5,000 years ago. Greek and Roman writers said they guarded gold, and they still stand on castle crests and coats of arms today. Half horse instead of half lion? That's a hippogriff, and we can sew one of those as well.

Your griffin, your way

Maybe you have your own gryphon character, drawn by you or a friend. Maybe it's the mount from your favorite game, or the guardian of an old family crest. Send us the drawing, a screenshot or a few photos. Choose the colors and the size, from a desk buddy to a big one you can hug with both arms. We can add poseable wings, a tail and legs that hold a pose, glowing eyes, a sound, or an embroidered name.

You see photos of the finished griffin before it ships. See more creatures in our fairytale plushies, the dragon plush page and the OC plush made from people's own characters.

Our griffin is sewn from premium plush fabric and faux fur, with hypoallergenic stuffing inside. The white plush gives the lion half a smooth, soft coat. The longer cream faux fur goes where a griffin should look wild: the crest, the shoulder ruff and the tip of the tail. We only use faux fur, never real.

The eagle half needs firmer parts. The beak stays glossy and hooked, the claws are black, and each wing feather holds its own shape.

What you can change:

  • Size: small, medium or large, or a size you name
  • Colors: a classic golden griffin, a snowy one like ours or your character's palette
  • Extras: wire inside the wings, tail and legs so they hold a pose, LED glowing eyes or wing accents, a sound module
  • Personal touches: an embroidered name, initials or a short message, or printed details

A griffin like this usually takes 2–4 weeks to make.

Two animals have to become one. First comes the pattern: a lion's body and legs, an eagle's head, and a neck that joins them. Then the wings, cut feather by feather, set into faux fur and attached so they can open. The tail and claws come next.

The face is done last, because the eyes and the beak decide whether he looks proud, sleepy or curious. The time frame includes a small reserve for handmade surprises. If you have a date in mind, a birthday or a convention, tell us in your first message.

We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Before the holidays couriers get busy, and parcels can take longer than usual.

For Christmas, order by November 1. That leaves enough time for the making and for the slow weeks of December delivery.

Planning a griffin as a birthday surprise or for a fan of a game with gryphon mounts? Add the making time and the delivery time together, then count back from your date.

Before he leaves the studio, we send you photos of the finished toy for approval. Then we pack him so his wings and crest arrive in shape.

We've been sewing custom plush since 2009. A mythical creature has no store version to copy, so every griffin gets its own pattern from scratch.

You see photos of your finished griffin before it ships, and you can ask about any detail first. If you still don't love it when it arrives, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.

Not sure about the colors, the size or how the wings should sit? Ask before we start. It's much easier to get a detail right in the pattern than to change it later.

Why?

No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.

Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.

Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.

You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.

One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.

That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
