You know the feeling. The idea is right there. You can almost see it: the long ears, the kind of eyes it should have, the way it sits. Then you try to pin down the details and they slip away.

That's where Denis was. He wanted a toy for his girlfriend, his own one, not something off a shelf. He just couldn't draw it. So he sat down next to our artist and the two of them drew it together, sketch by sketch, until the bunny on paper was the one in his head. Then we sewed it. This giant bunny plush was made to order for one couple, in 2011, and there isn't another like it.

How big is big

About 1.2 metres, roughly four feet. Big enough to sit in an armchair on its own like it owns the place. The long floppy ears hang down past its shoulders, the arms are long and loose, and the legs end in big flat feet that stick out over the edge of the seat.

What they came up with

The whole bunny is sewn from blue gingham with a daisy print, small blue and white checks scattered with white flowers. Two grey buttons for eyes, a black nose and a stitched smile. And a short red vest with one button, where their two names and a date are stitched in white thread, right over the heart.

None of that came from a catalogue. It came out of one conversation between a guy with an idea and an artist with a pencil.

Materials used

This bunny is sewn from blue-and-white gingham printed with white daisies, head to toe: ears, arms, body, legs and those big oval feet.

The vest is a separate piece of bright red fabric with a real button on the front. The eyes are two grey sewn-on buttons. The nose is black and the smile is stitched in black thread, and the names and the date on the vest are embroidered in white, so they stay put.

Lead time

A custom toy usually takes 2–4 weeks. Size and details change that, and your quote gives you a real date. The range leaves room for the small surprises every handmade toy brings.

If you don't have a drawing yet, we start with one. Our artist sketches your idea, you tell us what to fix, and nothing is cut until you approve the design. Then the pattern, the sewing, and the face last of all.

You get photos of the finished toy before it's packed. Got a birthday or an anniversary coming? Tell us at the start.

Delivery

We ship worldwide. Once your bunny leaves us, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country and your customs office.

Around Christmas and other holidays the post slows down everywhere, so add time if the gift has to arrive by a certain day. A big toy for a girlfriend usually has a date attached, like her birthday, Valentine's Day or your anniversary, and that date won't move. Give the parcel a comfortable margin.
