Mint Zebra Plush From a Telegram Sticker

Some stickers get sent so often they turn into a private language. For one of our customers that sticker was a mint zebra from the Telegram set Minty Zebra: a goofy turquoise zebra with a spiky black mane, a big white muzzle and a grin that takes up half her face. So they asked us to make her real.

This zebra plush was made to order from that sticker, for one person. We don't sell ready zebras. We sewed this one because someone sent us a picture and a reason.

A flirt with a wish tag

In the sticker set she's a flirt, and we kept that. One hoof up in a wave, eyes rolled to the side, mouth wide open. She went off to someone nicknamed Zebrulya, with a personal wish tag on a pale blue satin ribbon. The tag reads, in Russian, "To Zebrulya from Bobrulya". That's the whole message, and it was enough.

From a flat sticker to a zebra you can hold

A sticker is a few lines of vector art. A plush has to look right from the side and the back too. So the mane became a row of soft charcoal tabs running down her neck, the cream stripes were cut and stitched onto the mint body one by one, and the eyes are round satin domes with black pupils, as goggly as in the drawing. The red mouth, the black eyebrows and the tail tuft are all there. We aim for the closest likeness to your picture, so send the sticker itself plus any screenshots that show the details.

Materials used

The Mint Zebra is sewn from soft short-pile plush in a bright mint turquoise, with cream plush for the big muzzle and the round belly. Her stripes are separate cream pieces, cut to the shapes in the sticker and stitched onto the body one at a time, so they stay crisp instead of printed on.

The mane is a row of charcoal plush tabs that stand up along her neck. The same dark plush makes the hooves, the ear tips and the tuft on the end of her tail. Her eyes are round satin domes with small black pupils, the eyebrows and smile are stitched in black, and the open mouth is lined in red.

Inside she's filled with soft stuffing. Everything we use is safe and eco-friendly.

Lead time

A plush like this usually takes 2–4 weeks. Some toys are quicker. The range leaves room for the small surprises every handmade toy brings.

It starts with the sticker. We work out how a flat cartoon becomes a body with a front, sides and a back, and you approve the design before any fabric is cut. Then the pattern, the stripes cut and stitched one by one, the mane, and the face last, since the face is what makes her your sticker.

You get photos of the finished toy before it is packed. If the tag should carry a message, send the exact words at the start.

Delivery

We ship worldwide. Once the toy leaves us, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country and your customs office.

Around Christmas and other holidays the post slows down everywhere, so add time if the plush has to arrive by a certain day. A birthday, an anniversary or just "because" all work better when the parcel lands a few days early and waits.
