Meet the Heart Guy: a round-faced little man with a very generous stubble, orange tufts of hair, tiny white wings and white underpants covered in red hearts. He comes from a sticker in a well-known social network, and someone wanted him off the screen and in their hands.

So we sewed him. This is a cupid plush made to order from one customer's favorite sticker. We don't keep him on a shelf, and nobody else has this exact one.

Roses out, heart in

In the original sticker he holds a big bouquet of roses. Our customer asked for something else: put a heart in his hand instead. The customer's wish is law, so the flowers stayed in the sticker and the plush got a big red velvet heart, held close to his chest.

A small change. But it's the change that makes the toy say what its owner wants it to say, and not what the sticker artist had in mind.

From a flat sticker to a plush you can hug

A sticker only has to look right from the front. A plush has to work from every side. Here's what we kept from the drawing:

Materials used

The Heart Guy is sewn from soft plush: warm beige for his skin, dark brown for the stubble, bright orange for the tufts of hair and pure white for the wings. The two curly hairs on top are thin brown plush loops.

The big heart and the bow tie are cut from red velvety fabric, so they catch the light a little differently from the rest of him. His eyes are smooth white fabric with blue irises and black outlines, and the nose is a soft red bump. The underpants are white with red hearts sewn on.

Inside he's filled with soft stuffing, so he sits up and still squishes when hugged. Everything we use is safe and eco-friendly.

Lead time

A plush like this usually takes 2–4 weeks. Some toys are quicker. The range leaves room for the small surprises every handmade toy brings.

It starts with your sticker. We work out how a flat cartoon becomes a body that sits, where the wings go and how the hand holds whatever you want it to hold. You approve the design before any fabric is cut. Then the pattern, the sewing, and the face last, because the face is what gets looked at first.

Delivery

We ship worldwide. Once the toy leaves us, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country and your customs office.

Around Christmas and other holidays the post slows down everywhere, so add time if the plush has to arrive by a certain day. A love gift tends to have one, whether it's an anniversary, a birthday or the day you first met.

Tell us your date when you ask for a quote, and we'll say straight away whether it fits. Better a cupid who waits a few days in a drawer than one who shows up late.
