The best custom plush gift is one they can’t get anywhere else: their favorite character, or the toy they lost as a kid, sewn by hand from a picture you send. Custom toys start from $350, and the quote is free.
You don’t need to know anything about plush. You need a name and a picture. Here’s how to get both without spoiling the surprise.
Find out who they’d want
Most people have one character they never got a toy of. A cartoon they watched every morning, or a sidekick from a film nobody else remembers. Your job is to find out which one without asking straight out.
Slip a question into an ordinary conversation:
- What cartoon did you watch every day as a kid?
- Which toy do you wish you still had?
- If you could have any character as a sidekick, who would it be?
- Who was your hero growing up?
Then listen. If they light up or start retelling the plot, that’s your answer. Stuck for ideas? Look through our popular toys or the TV and movie characters we’ve sewn.
One picture is enough
A screenshot, a page from a picture book, a drawing, a character printed on a T-shirt. Any clear picture gets us started, and if you have more angles, send them all.
Looking for the toy they lost as a kid? An old family photo works. Replicas of lost childhood toys start from $295. See more on Lost Toy Replicas.

Make it theirs
This is the part a shop can’t do. Pick the size: small enough to carry around, or big enough to hug with both arms. Ask for an outfit, a pose, their name embroidered or a printed tag with an inside joke. Sound, LED lights and wire for posing are possible on request.
One customer collects anything with a moose on it. Their moose plush lies on its belly like it’s resting in the grass, with curly brown fur, and it’s about 50 cm (20 in) along the back.
What happens after you send it
We look at your picture and reply with a price and a time estimate. Each toy is priced on its own, by size and detail. Then our makers draw a pattern for this one toy and sew it by hand. That usually takes 2β4 weeks.
When it’s finished, you get photos before it ships. If something looks off, we fix it and you look again. On personal orders, if you don’t love the toy, tell us within 14 days of delivery: you get a full refund and keep the toy. See our guarantee.
We’ve sewn toys to order since 2009. Fur is always faux, never natural.
Order in time for Christmas
Delivery is quoted separately. We ship worldwide. Regular post usually costs $50β60 and takes 7β20 business days, and around the holidays parcels slow down everywhere.
Add it up: usually 2β4 weeks of sewing, plus up to four weeks in the post. For Christmas, order by November 1. More on our Christmas plush page. For a birthday or an anniversary, put the date in your first message and we’ll tell you right away if it fits.
Gifts we’ve sewn
Larry in Washington DC wanted a present for his wife: a hamburger man, from a picture that was half burger photo, half cartoon. He’d found us online and wasn’t sure about it.
“I was a little scared to order from someone I found on the Internet β¦ but took the chance and am thrilled with the results. I can’t wait to give it to my wife next week.”

Ruslan wanted Findus, the cat from Sven Nordqvist’s Pettson and Findus books, for his daughter’s birthday. The Findus we’d made before was 50 cm. He needed one no taller than 25β30 cm, so she could carry him around, and that’s the size we sewed.
“I’m sure my daughter will remember this present for a long time to come. Hopefully, Findus will become her best friend, to be taken everywhere and not just another random soft toy to be thrown into a dusty cupboard.”

And sometimes the gift is for yourself. Dex in the USA had wanted Rugby, the tiger from Jim Henson’s The Christmas Toy, since he was a kid. We sewed his Rugby Tiger, and he wrote to us when it arrived.
“I will treasure this doll for many years to come – which for me, is a childhood dream come true to own!”

Custom toys start from $350.
A bigger size or extra details can cost more.
Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
