This is a Findus Christmas plush: the striped cat from Sven Nordqvist's Pettson and Findus books, dressed the way he looks in the Christmas stories. A customer asked us for it, and we sewed it to order, just for them. Nothing here sits on a shelf waiting for a buyer. Every toy starts with someone's request.
We had made a Findus before. This one is a remake with two extra wishes from the customer: a wool hat and a sock on his tail, like in the stories about Findus at Christmas. We worked from a book illustration they sent. It's the last picture in the gallery, so you can compare.
Who is Findus?
Findus is the cat who lives with the old farmer Pettson in the picture books by Swedish author Sven Nordqvist. The first one came out in 1984. Findus wears green-striped clothes and a cap, walks on his hind legs and behaves a lot like a small child: curious, stubborn, always planning something. The Christmas book, Pettson får julbesök (1989), is known in English as Findus at Christmas.
Plenty of grown-ups read these books as kids and now read them to their own children. A Christmas Findus fits right into that.

This Findus is made from safe, eco-friendly materials.
His body is a long-pile faux fur in cream, with brown stripes sewn in on the head, back, legs and tail. It's shaggy and soft, so he looks a little scruffy, the way Findus looks in the books. We never use natural fur.

You can change the colors, the fabric of the clothes, or the size. Extras such as a sound module, lights or poseable limbs are possible on request.
A Findus like this one usually takes 2–4 weeks to make.
The cat himself comes first: pattern, faux fur, the stripes placed so they run the right way on the head and tail. Then the outfit. The overalls, the hat and the tail sock are each sewn separately and fitted to him.
The face is last. The eyes and the angle of the muzzle decide whether he looks like Findus or just a striped cat, so we take our time there. The time frame also leaves a small reserve for handmade surprises.
We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier.
This is a Christmas toy, and December is when couriers are busiest and parcels slow down. For Christmas, order by November 1. That leaves time for the making and for the trip to you.
Before he leaves the studio, you get photos of the finished toy. If he's a gift, put the date you need him by in your first message.
