This mascot started as a flat cartoon: a young graduate with a quiff, round violet glasses, a mortarboard and a long violet gown thrown over a yellow hoodie. The company used him in its branding. We turned the drawing into a custom graduation doll, made to order, and sewed every piece of his outfit by hand.
From a cartoon to a doll
A cartoon can stand in any pose and never shows its back. A doll has to work from every side. So we kept what people recognize at a glance and built the rest.
- The face is painted on fabric: big green eyes, brown brows, a small sideways smile.
- The glasses are bent from violet wire, round like in the drawing.
- The hair sweeps up into the same tall quiff, and the cap sits on top with a cream tassel.
- The yellow hoodie has a soft plush feel, a real hood, drawstrings and the chest patch from the artwork.
- Denim jeans and soft yellow sneakers with stitched laces finish him off.
The gown, the cap and the glasses come off. Under them he's just a guy in a hoodie and jeans. His arms bend too, so he can stand with one hand out like in the drawing, hands in his pockets or arms crossed.
The client's drawing is the last picture in the gallery, so you can compare the two.
What we could make for you
If your brand has a person as its mascot, a doll often fits better than a plush animal. Send us whatever you have: a character sheet, one drawing, a logo with a face. We work out the proportions, the fabrics and which parts should come off, then sew it by hand.
One doll is a normal order, and so is a batch. For a batch we always sew one sample first, and you approve it before we make the rest.
More brand characters live on our custom mascot plush page. Other dolls we've made from characters are in character dolls.
The doll is textile all the way through. The face is painted on fabric, and the clothes are sewn as separate pieces, sized for him.
- Painted fabric face with green eyes and brown brows
- Dark brown hair styled into an upswept quiff
- Round glasses bent from violet wire
- Violet mortarboard cap with a cream tassel
- Long violet gown, removable
- Soft yellow plush hoodie with a chest patch, denim jeans, yellow fabric sneakers
- Hypoallergenic fiberfill inside
For your mascot we match fabrics to your brand colors as closely as we can. A logo can be embroidered or sewn on as a patch, like the one on this hoodie.
A single mascot doll usually takes 2–4 weeks. A doll with a full wardrobe can take longer, since every piece of clothing is cut and fitted by hand.
Ordering a batch? The first sample usually takes 4–6 weeks. You approve it, and only then do we sew the rest.
Our estimate already has room for handmade surprises. If the doll is needed for a launch, a graduation season or an event, give us the date when you ask for a quote.
We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Couriers slow down before big holidays, so leave some room.
Brand dolls almost always have a date attached. Count back from that day: making time first, then shipping. For anything tied to Christmas or New Year, order by November 1.
Before anything ships, you get photos of the finished doll. That's the moment to look closely at the face, the glasses and the logo and tell us what you think.
We've made toys and dolls to order since 2009, from photos, drawings and character sheets. Mascots for companies, stores and events are a regular part of that work.
Before we start, we go through the design with you: size, colors, face, outfit, logo, and what has to stay exactly as drawn. There's no minimum order. For a batch, we sew one sample first and you approve it. When the doll is ready, you see photos of it before it ships.
Planning a factory run? We also make prototypes and sewing patterns for production. See our Patterns & Prototypes page.
