Somebody lost this one. It was a soft green pot leaf plush with sleepy eyes and one little fang, and what was left of it was a photo. In 2022 we sewed it again from that photo, made to order for that one person. There's no shelf of ready leaves here. Every toy we make starts with someone's request.
The photo we worked from
This is the picture we got: the old cannabis leaf plush, lying on a bed between pillows. The pink square marks the one change the owner asked for: the irises went from orange to deep pink. Everything else stayed. Heavy dark-green lids, lashes, a tiny white nose, a frown with one fang, and the curved stem that works a bit like a tail.
How a lost toy comes back
We read the photo for shape and proportions, then draw a pattern for the leaf's outline and every pointed tip. The eyes are cut from fabric and sewn on piece by piece, each shape outlined in dark thread.
Plenty of people are still on the hunt for a childhood plush they lost at an airport or during a move. Some spot the same model years later on a resale site. Many never do, because the toy was a one-off or nobody makes it anymore. A replica doesn't need the original. A picture, a drawing or a good description is enough.

The leaf is sewn from short-pile green plush, soft and a little velvety, close to the fabric of the old toy in the owner's photo. Body and stem are both stuffed, so you can pick it up by the stalk and it keeps its shape.
The face is fabric appliqué: cream eye whites, deep pink irises, black pupils with white highlights and dark-green lids. Each piece is sewn down and outlined in dark thread. The nose and the fang are white.

Much of it goes into the pattern. A photo is flat, so we work out the outline and the size from it before anything is cut. Then the face, one fabric shape at a time, until it looks like the toy in your picture.
