How a look-alike puppet gets its likeness

One photo can be enough. A few from different angles help more. We copy what people actually recognize you by:

your hairstyle and hair color
the shape of your face, brows and nose
your glasses, beard or mustache
the clothes you're known for, plus a signature accessory if you have one

Look at the photos. The hair is fuzzy gray faux fur, the glasses are black rectangular frames, and the hands have fingers. Small things, but they're why he reads as a person and not a generic puppet.

A mouth that talks, on camera

The movable mouth is the point of a hand puppet. It opens wide, tongue and teeth and all, so it looks like he's really speaking. On a video that makes him a co-host, not a prop on the shelf.

Materials used

This puppet is made from safe, eco-friendly materials. The skin is a soft tan fabric that holds stitched details well, so the brows, the nose and the ears keep their shape up close on camera.

The mouth opens and shuts in every take, so we use durable stitching and carefully chosen materials. It still looks tidy after a lot of filming.

Lead time

A custom hand puppet usually takes 2–4 weeks.

That time goes on things you can't rush. We study your photos and draw a pattern for your head shape and hairstyle. Then comes the sewing, fitting the mouth so it opens easily on a hand, and the face details that make it look like you rather than just someone in glasses.

Delivery

We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on where you live, the carrier and the shipping method. Sometimes it's closer to 7.

In the holiday season couriers get overloaded and parcels run late.

If the puppet has a date to meet, like a conference talk, a launch video or a birthday gift for a blogger friend, add the making time and the delivery time together and leave some room. For Christmas, order by November 10.
