"I'll give you a star." People say it, and in 2015 we got to do it for real. A photo studio asked us for a set of soft props: a big crescent moon, a handful of gold stars and some sunflowers. Not every day you get to make the moon. This moon photo prop was made to order for that one studio, in the shapes and colors they wanted.

What we sewed

  • A crescent moon in shiny pale-gold fabric, gathered into soft folds, thick enough to lean on or curl around
  • Seven puffy five-point stars in metallic gold with a neat piped edge, in two sizes
  • Sunflowers with yellow petals, a quilted dark brown center and long green stems that bend wherever you lay them

Every piece is a separate cushion, so the set never has to look the same twice. Stars on the moon, stars inside the curve, sunflowers draped across it.

Why a studio orders its own props

A moon pillow with a few star cushions is a classic for newborn and baby shoots, and for kids' portraits. Store sets usually come in one size and a couple of stock colors, which is why the same moon turns up in so many portfolios. Ours is sewn for your style: the size of the moon, gold or silver or pastel, how many stars, and what sits next to them. Clouds, flowers, a sun.

It works outside a studio too. A shop window, a kids' corner in a cafe, a photo spot at an event.

How we start

Send a sketch, a mood board or just a few photos you like, and tell us the sizes. We draw the pieces, you approve, then we sew. For several identical sets, you approve one sample first.

What's next? Maybe your studio. More soft decor for businesses: giant plush letters for a brand and the rest of our custom mascot plush. Or a toy that sleeps on its own moon: our sleepy bear.

The moon is sewn from shiny pale-gold fabric, gathered in folds along the whole curve. Under studio light those folds give it texture instead of a flat glare.

The stars are a brighter metallic gold, with piping around the edge so all five points keep their shape session after session of being picked up and moved. The sunflowers are the soft contrast: yellow petals, a quilted dark brown center and long green stems.

For your set we match the colors you want, from silver and white to pastel pink or night blue, and swap the sunflowers for clouds, hearts or whatever your shoots need. Loops for hanging are possible on request.

A prop set starts with a drawing. We work out the shapes and sizes from your sketch or reference photos, you approve them, and then we cut fabric.

Time depends on how big the pieces are and how many you need. A moon with a few stars is quicker than a full set with flowers and clouds. We quote each project separately and reply within 1-2 days.

Planning a seasonal mini-session, like Christmas or spring? Tell us the date in your first message so we can tell you right away if it fits.

We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. A big moon and a box of stars may travel as separate parcels.

Before anything ships, you get photos of every finished piece, so you can check the colors and shapes against your idea.

Holiday shoots fill up fast, and couriers slow down in December. For props you want in time for Christmas or New Year sessions, order by November 1.

We've sewn soft toys and decor to order since 2009. Business work has been part of it for years: mascots, logo toys, giant pieces for stands, and props like this moon.

Nothing gets sewn blind. You approve the drawings first, a series gets an approved sample, and you see photos of the finished pieces before they ship. There is no minimum order, so one moon is fine.

Need many identical sets for a chain of studios or shops? We also make prototypes and sewing patterns a factory can use. See our Patterns & Prototypes page.
