Greg is the middle schooler behind Diary of a Wimpy Kid, the Jeff Kinney series that started online on Funbrain in 2004 and came out as a book in 2007. He insists it's a journal, not a diary. He spends the first book dodging the Cheese Touch and bossing around his best friend Rowley. Readers know he's a bit of a mess. They love him anyway.
From a Few Pen Lines to a Doll
Kinney draws Greg with almost nothing: a round head, dot eyes, a curved smile, a few hairs sticking up. That's what makes him hard to sew. There's no detail to hide behind, so every shape has to read at a glance.
This Greg has a soft round nose, ears that stick out, a black tuft of hair and oversized grey shoes. He wears a grey T-shirt and black shorts, carries a red backpack and holds a red book. He can sit on a shelf with his legs crossed or stand there flashing a peace sign.

Greg is made from premium plush fabric with soft hypoallergenic filling. The seams are stitched to last, so he can handle hugs, trips in a school bag and a lot of picking up.
The colors follow the character: creamy white for his head and hands, soft grey for his T-shirt and big shoes, black for his shorts and hair. The backpack and book are sewn in bright red, so they stand out against all that grey and make him easy to spot on a shelf.

A Greg Heffley plush usually takes 2–4 weeks to make.
A good part of that goes into the pattern. Greg is drawn flat, so his round head, ears and huge shoes have to be worked out in 3D before any fabric is cut. Then comes the sewing, the stitched face and the small parts: backpack straps, the tuft of hair, the book.
All of it is done by hand. Handmade work has its surprises, and we'd rather give you an honest range than rush his face.
Shipping usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on where you live, the carrier and the shipping method. Some parcels arrive in about a week.
Around the holidays couriers get busy and delays happen. If Greg is a Christmas or birthday gift, add the making time and the shipping time together and order early.
A birthday for a young reader, a new book in the series, a grown-up fan who still has the first one on the shelf: pick the date first, then count back. If the gift has to arrive by a certain day, tell us when you order.
