Kermit is the Muppet who sings. "Bein' Green" first aired on Sesame Street in 1970, and "Rainbow Connection" comes from The Muppet Movie (1979). If one of those songs belongs to someone you love, a Kermit the Frog plush is a pretty good way to tell them.

We don't keep a shelf of ready-made Kermits. Every custom Kermit plush is made to order, sewn by hand for one person and built around what they ask for.

Maybe your mom sang "Rainbow Connection" at bedtime. Maybe it was your first dance, or the song your band always ends on. Or maybe you grew up a bit different, and "it's not easy being green" hit close to home.

A handmade Kermit keeps that song in the room without anyone pressing play. Picture him on the piano, on top of a record shelf or on the edge of your desk, long legs hanging down, the way he sat on his log in the swamp.

Getting Kermit right

Kermit looks simple. That's exactly why a bad copy is easy to spot. These are the details we watch:

the pointed collar, a lighter yellow-green than his body
a wide red mouth with a pink tongue
round white eyes with black pupil lines, sitting high on his head
long, thin arms and legs with slim fingers and big flipper feet

Those long limbs drape over whatever he sits on, so he looks relaxed instead of stiff.

Materials used

Kermit is sewn from felt. It gives him that flat, bright green look, and it holds a clean edge, so the points of his collar and the fingers on his hands stay crisp instead of going fuzzy.

Inside, he's filled with the softest stuffing. His body stays squishy enough to hug, while his long arms and legs stay light enough to flop over a shelf, a knee or the back of a sofa.

Every piece is cut and sewn by hand for your order, not pulled from a box of ready toys.

Lead time

Making your Kermit takes 2–3 weeks.

There's no stock to grab him from. We start with the pattern, cut the felt, sew the body and those long limbs, then take our time on the face. His eyes and mouth decide whether he reads as Kermit or some green frog, so that part never gets rushed.

If you'd like an outfit or accessory, mention it when you ask for a quote so we can plan for it. A few weeks of waiting, and you get a frog nobody else has.

Delivery

Once Kermit is finished and you've approved his photos, shipping usually takes 7 to 20 business days. Sometimes it's closer to 7, sometimes the full 20. It depends on where you live and on the shipping company and method.

Around holidays, couriers get swamped and deliveries can run late.

Planning him as a gift for an anniversary, a birthday or a music teacher's last day of school? Add the 2–3 weeks of making to the shipping time and order early, so Kermit shows up before the big day, not after.
