A Grover plush made for one fan

There's no shelf of Grovers here waiting to ship. Every Grover plush we sew is made to order, for one person and the Grover they remember. This one went to a grown-up fan who had wanted him since he was a kid. He finally got his childhood dream toy, and we were the ones who got to make it.

If the furry blue monster from Sesame Street was your favorite too, here's what goes into a custom Grover plush.

Getting Grover to look like Grover

On paper he's simple. Blue fur, pink nose, big mouth. In real life, small things decide whether a toy reads as Grover or as some random blue monster.

The mouth takes up most of his face: a wide black opening with a red edge. The nose is a round pink ball. The eyes are white with black pupils, and moving them even a little changes his whole expression, from happy to confused. We check the face against your pictures until it looks like him.

Then the body. Grover is long and floppy, with skinny arms and legs covered in shaggy fur. Ours can slump in a chair or drape an arm over the table, the way he flops around on the show.

Your pictures, your wishes

Send us what you have: screenshots from an episode, a photo of the Grover you owned as a kid, or a sketch. Tell us the size you want and anything you'd change. Classic Grover or Super Grover in his cape and helmet, it's your call.

Materials used

Grover's look lives in his fur, so that's where we start. We use soft blue fur with a long, shaggy pile, like on the show, that still feels nice to hug.

Inside, he's filled with our plushest stuffing. His head and body keep their shape, while the long arms and legs stay floppy, so he can sit in a chair or hang over a shelf.

Lead time

A handmade Grover plush takes 2–3 weeks to make.

He isn't pulled from a box. We make a pattern for your size, cut the fur and sew his long arms and legs. Then the slow part: the face. Mouth, nose and eyes get placed and checked against your pictures, because a small shift changes his expression.

Delivery

Once your Grover is finished, we pack him and send him to your door. Delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on where you live, the shipping company and the method you pick.

Around holidays couriers get swamped, and parcels slow down. If Grover is a birthday or Christmas present, order early.

Please keep this in mind when you order a gift that needs to arrive by a specific date. Count 2–3 weeks to make him plus up to 20 business days on the road.
