Ask people to picture the Cheshire Cat and many of them see this one: smoky grey fur, blue stripes, huge turquoise eyes and a grin full of teeth. That's the look of Chessur from Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland (2010), voiced by Stephen Fry. Our blue Cheshire Cat plush follows that look, and it is sewn by hand to order, for one person at a time. We don't keep a shelf of cats. You ask, we make yours.
Fans of that film version tend to be serious about it. Some have it tattooed on a forearm. Some spent years hunting down every bit of merch with that grin on it. Plenty call it creepy, and love it more for that.
The grin is the whole point
So we didn't print it or embroider it. Every tooth is sculpted, set in a peach-colored mouth that runs almost ear to ear. The nose and the little toe pads on all four paws are sculpted too, and long white whiskers stick out of the cheeks.
- Soft grey faux fur with bright blue stripes on the head, arms and legs
- Glossy turquoise eyes with slit pupils
- A big round head on a plump sitting body, arms held out for a hug
Change what you like
Prices start from $315. For that you can pick lighter or darker shades of grey and blue, a different stripe pattern, another size, or a softer or more wicked smile. If your Cheshire Cat lives in a sketch or a photo, send it, and we'll work from that (see plush from drawings).
Small extras are possible too: a tiny top hat, an embroidered name tag, or a little tag with a riddle you write yourself. Maybe "Why is a raven like a writing desk?", maybe something only the two of you understand.
Want more grins? Our Cheshiromania post shows a whole family of Cheshire cats, and the rest of Wonderland is on the book character plush page.
We're an independent studio. This is a handmade fan piece, not official Disney merchandise.
This Cheshire Cat is sewn from soft faux fur in grey, with bright blue stripes that wrap around the arms and legs like tabby markings. We only use faux fur, never real.
- Sculpted teeth, nose and toe pads, so the grin keeps its shape
- Glossy turquoise eyes and long white whiskers
- Hypoallergenic filling
- Reinforced seams that hold up to hugging
Want a different shade of blue or grey? Ask. A sound module, lights or wire inside the limbs so he holds a pose are also possible on request.
A blue Cheshire Cat usually takes 2β4 weeks to make.
The pattern comes first: that big round head, the stout body, legs that let him sit up on his own. Then comes the fur, with the stripes placed where they belong. The sculpted parts take their own time: every tooth is shaped by hand, and the grin has to sit right on the face.
The time frame includes a small reserve for handmade surprises. Got a date in mind? Put it in your first message and we'll tell you honestly if it works.
We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7β20 business days, depending on your country and the courier. Around holidays parcels move slower, so plan a little extra time.
This cat makes a good birthday present for an Alice fan, a reading-corner mascot, or a gift for someone who rewatches the 2010 film every year. If he has to arrive by a certain day, add the making time to the delivery time and count back from it. Tight? Write to us anyway and we'll be straight with you.
Before he ships, you get photos of the finished toy to approve.
We've been making custom plush since 2009. A Cheshire Cat is a fair test of that: everyone knows the face, so a lopsided grin or a stripe in the wrong place shows at once.
You see photos of your cat before he leaves the studio. If you don't love him, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.
Not sure about the size or the colors? Ask before we start. Changes are easy at the pattern stage and much harder once the fur is cut.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
