Bernard and Miss Bianca never go on a mission alone, so we made them as a pair. This Rescuers plush set is the two mice from Disney's 1977 film: Bernard in his red sweater and brown cap, Bianca in her purple beret and bow. Like every toy we sew, they were made to order. We don't keep a shelf of ready mice. You send pictures, tell us what you want, and we sew yours from scratch.
We made this pair in 2016. A lot of people who grew up in the '80s and '90s remember plush mice from these films, and fans still say Bianca and Bernard had more plush potential than anyone used. If you've been looking for a Bianca and Bernard plush that looks like the film, this is how you get one.
Who Bianca and Bernard are
The Rescuers came out in June 1977, based on Margery Sharp's books. The Rescue Aid Society is a club of mice from around the world who help anyone in trouble. When a bottle arrives with a note from Penny, an orphan girl taken by Madame Medusa, Miss Bianca, the elegant delegate from Hungary, takes the case. She picks Bernard as her partner. He's the Society's janitor: shy, nervous and badly superstitious about the number 13.
They fly to Devil's Bayou on Orville the albatross and cross the swamp in a leaf boat powered by Evinrude the dragonfly. Eva Gabor voices Bianca, Bob Newhart voices Bernard, and the two came back in The Rescuers Down Under in 1990.
What we sewed
- Bernard: soft grey plush, big pink ears, a brown nose, a red sweater and a brown cap
- Bianca: white plush, a purple beret, a wide purple bow, long lashes and pink ears
- Long thin tails on both, and open, smiling faces
One mouse or both
You can order Bernard, Bianca, or the pair. A couple gift is an easy idea here, since the two of them are one of Disney's sweetest teams. Want Evinrude, Orville or Penny's teddy bear to join them? Send screenshots and we'll quote it. Any size, from shelf-sized to big enough to hug. You get photos of the finished toys before they ship.
More cartoon favorites are in toys from animated films, and another Disney mouse of ours is the Gadget look-alike doll.
We're an independent studio. These are handmade fan pieces, not official Disney merchandise.
Bianca and Bernard are sewn from premium fabrics, chosen part by part so each mouse matches the film:
- Short-pile grey plush for Bernard and white plush for Bianca, soft enough to hug
- Pink fabric inside the big ears
- A red sweater and a brown cap for Bernard, a purple beret and bow for Bianca
- Eyes with long lashes for her, a round brown nose for both
The filling is hypoallergenic. If any fur goes into your pair, it's faux fur only. Want Bianca's lilac coat from the film, or wire in the tails and arms so they hold a pose? Tell us at the start, since extras like that go in while we sew.
One mouse, or the pair, usually takes 2β4 weeks to make.
We start with a pattern drawn from your pictures. With these two, the head does most of the work: the big round ears, the long snout, the eyes. Bianca needs her lashes and her slightly tilted look; Bernard needs his worried, friendly face.
The clothes are cut and sewn to fit after the bodies are done. The time frame includes a small reserve for handmade surprises, so if you have a date in mind, say so in your first message.
We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7β20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Around the holidays couriers slow down, so allow extra time.
Planning them for an anniversary, a Valentine's Day surprise or a friend who grew up on the VHS? Add the making time and delivery together and count back from the date. For Christmas, order by November 1.
Before they leave, we send you photos of the finished toys. They travel packed so the ears, the beret and the bow arrive in shape.
We've been sewing custom plush since 2009, and a lot of it is fan characters. Fans of an old Disney film know every detail: the color of Bernard's cap, the way Bianca tilts her head.
So you see photos of your mice before they ship. If you still don't love them, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.
Not sure about the size, or whether to go with the 1977 look or the Down Under one? Ask before we start. A detail is much easier to change in the pattern than in a finished toy.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
