Everyone has a plumbus in their home. Now it can be a soft one. This plumbus plush from Rick and Morty is 60 cm (about 24 inches) long, sewn by hand to order for one fan. That's how every toy here starts: you tell us what you want, we make it. There's no shelf of ready-made plumbuses waiting somewhere.
What a plumbus is (nobody knows)
The plumbus shows up in "Interdimensional Cable 2: Tempting Fate," season 2, episode 8, which aired in September 2015. Rick flips through TV channels from other dimensions and lands on "How They Do It," a fake factory show. First they take the dinglebop and smooth it out with a bunch of schleem. Then it goes through the grumbo, where the fleeb is rubbed against it. By the end you've watched every step and you still have no idea what the thing does. That's the joke, and fans have been quoting it ever since.
On Reddit, fans keep asking where to get a soft one. One wanted a plumbus for a girlfriend at Christmas, "preferably a plush one." Another tried to draw a pattern for a gift and gave up because the shape is so odd. Fair enough. It has no face, no legs and no clear front.
What we sewed
- A knobbly coral ball on top, made of separate stuffed lumps, on a thin stalk
- A round coral drum for the body, with pale pink ends
- A curled pale pink handle on one side
- A fan of dark red spikes on the other
At 60 cm it's big enough to sit on a couch and puzzle your guests.

The plumbus is sewn from premium soft plush, picked to match the colors on screen:
- Coral plush for the knobbly top, the stalk and the drum body
- Pale pink plush for the ends of the drum and the curled handle
- Dark red fabric for the spikes, cut and sewn one by one
Each knob on top is its own stuffed piece, sewn together into a ball, so the top keeps its lumpy look. The filling is hypoallergenic. If any part needs fur, it's faux fur only.
Want a different shade, a bigger top or extras like a sound module? Tell us at the start, since those go in while we sew.
A plumbus plush usually takes 2–4 weeks to make.
The pattern comes first. A plumbus has no symmetry and no face, so it only reads as a plumbus if the proportions are right, starting with the size of the top against the drum. Then the knobs are sewn, stuffed and joined into a ball.
The spikes and the handle go on last. The time frame has a small reserve for handmade surprises, so if you have a date in mind, say so in your first message.
We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Around the holidays couriers slow down, so it can take longer.
It's a good gift for the Rick and Morty fan who quotes the show at dinner. Planning it for a birthday? Add the making time and delivery together and count back from the date. For Christmas, order by November 1.
Before it leaves, we send you photos of the finished toy. We pack it so the spikes and the handle arrive in shape.
