This Obelix plush doll was sewn by hand to order, for one fan. We don't keep a shelf of ready Obelixes. You send the picture of the Obelix you want, tell us the size and the extras, and we make that one.
A lot of people grew up with Asterix and Obelix on the shelf next to Tintin. Some remember a big Obelix plush from the nineties and can't find it anywhere now. If that's you, a frame from the cartoon or a scan of your favorite album page is enough to start.
The Menhir Man Himself
René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo brought Obelix into the first Asterix album in 1959. He delivers menhirs, loves roast wild boar and goes everywhere with his little dog Dogmatix. He fell into the magic potion as a baby, so he's strong all the time and never allowed a sip. And he is not fat. Just ask him.
Our doll was made from a frame of the cartoon. He has a big round nose, a cheeky wink, a red moustache and long red braids tied with black bows. A small grey helmet sits on top. The green belt has gold studs and a ring buckle, and below it come the famous blue-and-white striped trousers and big brown shoes. That round belly was made for hugging.

Obelix is sewn from premium plush fabric and filled with soft hypoallergenic stuffing. The seams are stitched to last, so he can take bear hugs and a lot of picking up. A man who carries menhirs should be able to handle that.
The colors follow the comic: warm tan for his face and hands, bright red for the braids and moustache, green for the belt, white and sky blue for the striped trousers, brown for the shoes.

An Obelix plush doll usually takes 2–4 weeks to make.
Most of the first days go into the pattern. Obelix is drawn flat, and his shape is all curves: the huge belly, the round nose, the short legs under those wide trousers. Every piece has to be worked out in 3D before we cut any fabric. Then come the sewing, the face, the braids and small parts like the helmet and belt studs.
It's all done by hand, and handmade work has its surprises. We'd rather give you an honest range than rush his face.
Shipping usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on where you live, the carrier and the shipping method. Some parcels arrive in about a week.
Around the holidays couriers get busy and delays happen. If Obelix is a Christmas or birthday gift, add the making time to the shipping time and order early.
Maybe it's for a dad who read every album as a kid, or a friend who still quotes "These Romans are crazy". Pick the date first, then count back. If the gift has to arrive by a certain day, tell us when you order.
We've been sewing custom plush toys since 2009, and a lot of them are characters that only exist as drawings or cartoon frames. Obelix is a good test of that: a round, simple shape that has to look exactly like him at a glance.
