This Buttercup plush is the white unicorn from Toy Story, and we sewed him by hand for one child whose favorite character he was. He didn't come off a shelf: someone asked for exactly this unicorn, and we made him to order. That's how every toy here starts: you tell us who you want, we sew that one.
Fans like to say you think Buttercup is a sweet little girl unicorn until he opens his mouth. That joke is half the reason people love him.
Who Buttercup is
Buttercup lives in Bonnie Anderson's room. He first shows up in Toy Story 3 (2010), when Woody lands at Bonnie's house, and he's back in Toy Story 4 (2019). He looks like the fluffiest toy in the box: white coat, golden mane, pink hearts on his face. He talks like a tired, sarcastic guy who has seen it all. He gets along best with Hamm, the other wisecracker, and in Toy Story 4 he keeps pitching the idea of framing Bonnie's dad for a crime to solve their problems. He's laid back and a bit of a troublemaker. Sparkly he is not.
What we sewed
- A soft white body with stubby legs, built to be hugged and carried around
- Big blue eyes with gold rims and little brown brows
- A twisted gold horn and brown inside the ears
- A bright yellow faux fur tail and forelock
- Pink hearts outlined in gold on his muzzle, and gold-brown hooves
We kept the round, top-heavy face from the films, because that's where his deadpan look comes from.
Your Buttercup, your way

Buttercup is soft all the way through, as a toy for a child should be:
- Plush and fleece for the white body and the big face
- Faux fur for the yellow tail and forelock, long enough to stroke
- Shiny gold fabric for the twisted horn, and gold-brown fabric for the hooves
- Embroidered pink hearts and eye details
The stuffing is hypoallergenic and keeps the head round without making it hard. Faux fur only, never real fur. Want a warmer gold or a paler pink, a sound module or wire in the legs? Tell us at the start, since those go in while we sew.
A Buttercup plush usually takes 3–4 weeks to make.
First the pattern. His head is almost as big as his body, so the proportions have to work on paper before we cut fabric. Then the body, legs, horn and faux fur tail.
The face goes last. Get the eyes a little off and he stops looking unimpressed. The time frame has a small reserve for handmade surprises, so if you have a date in mind, say so in your first message.
We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Around the holidays couriers slow down, so leave extra time.
Buttercup makes a good birthday surprise for a kid who knows every line of Toy Story 3, or for a grown-up who grew up with the films. Add the making time to the delivery time and count back from the day you need him. For Christmas, order by November 1.
Before he ships, we send you photos of the finished toy. We pack him so the horn and the ears arrive in shape.
