This Pink Panther plush is needle-felted from wool by hand, and we make it to order: you tell us which Panther you remember, and we make that one for you.

The cat first strolled across the screen in the opening titles of the 1963 film The Pink Panther, animated by DePatie-Freleng with Friz Freleng directing. Audiences liked the cartoon so much that it got its own shorts and later The Pink Panther Show. That's where most of us met him. Some people still talk about watching the reruns after dinner with a parent. Others still keep the Pink Panther plush they've had since they were babies.

Felted, not sewn

Most Panther toys are stuffed fabric. This one is built up from loose pink wool with a barbed felting needle, poked thousands of times until the fibers lock into a firm shape. That's how he keeps the long thin arms and legs, the narrow waist and the tail that curls behind him. The cream belly, yellow eyes, pink nose and whiskers go on last.

Prices start from $350. You choose the shade of pink, the size and the face, from that famous smug smile to something sleepier. Add white gloves, a cane or a tiny bow tie. Materials used

This Pink Panther is needle-felted from wool. No fabric skin, no faux fur. A felting needle works the loose fibers until they turn firm, so the figure keeps its shape and still has a soft, fuzzy surface.

Felted wool suits a slim cartoon cat like this one. Thin limbs and a narrow waist would sag in stuffed fabric. In wool they keep their shape. Gloves, a cane or a bow tie can be added, and wire inside the limbs for posing is possible on request.

Lead time

A felted Pink Panther usually takes 2–4 weeks.

Felting is slow work. The body is built up layer by layer, then the arms, legs and tail are shaped and joined. The face takes the longest: the heavy eyelids, the smug little smile and the whiskers decide whether he looks like the Panther you remember or just a pink cat.

A pair takes longer than one figure. The time frame already includes a small reserve for handmade surprises. Have a date in mind? Mention it in your first message and we'll tell you honestly whether it works.

Delivery

We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country, the courier and the shipping method. Around holidays parcels can run late.
