This miniature pinscher plush started with a family who loved their dog. They didn't want "a pinscher". They wanted theirs, with a real portrait likeness, so we sewed him to order from their dog. He's one of our early pet portraits, first shown in 2012.
He stands square on four tan paws, ears up and chin lifted, with a sideways look that says he heard the fridge open.
The King of Toys
Min Pin owners call their dog the King of Toys, and the American Kennel Club uses the name too. People often take the breed for a small Doberman. It isn't one. The Zwergpinscher comes from Germany and is older than the Doberman. It's a tiny dog, 10 to 12.5 inches at the shoulder, with a big ego and a high-stepping trot.
A store-bought min pin plush usually ends up as a generic black puppy with brown socks. A portrait has to catch more than that:
- Black faux fur with rust markings in the right places: brows, muzzle, chest, legs
- Tall upright ears lined with lighter tan faux fur
- A brown glass eye with a little white in the corner, which gives him that side glance
- A glossy black nose and a short tail held up
Your own Min Pin, from photos
We don't keep dogs on a shelf. Every one is sewn for one person, from their pictures. Send a few clear photos of your Min Pin: the face, the side, the markings on the chest and paws. Black and rust like this one, chocolate and rust, or solid red, we match the coat you have. Tell us how big you want it, and whether it should be realistic or a bit softer and more cartoon-like for hugging.
Before anything ships, you get photos of the finished toy. More dogs we've sewn from photos are in dog replicas, for example this life-size chocolate Lab. Cats and other animals are in pet stuffed animals.
A Min Pin's coat is short, smooth and shiny, so we use short-pile faux fur that lies flat along the body. The rust markings are separate pieces of faux fur sewn into the black, not painted on, so the edges stay sharp.
- Black faux fur with rust-orange markings, or the colours of your own dog
- Tall ears lined with lighter faux fur
- Glass eyes in your dog's shade and a shaped, glossy nose
- Firm stuffing in the legs, so he stands on his own
All our materials are premium and hypoallergenic, and we only use faux fur. His own collar, a name tag or poseable legs on a wire frame can be added while we sew.
A miniature pinscher plush usually takes 2–4 weeks. It includes a small reserve for handmade surprises.
We start with a pattern drawn from your photos. A Min Pin is all angles, from the wedge-shaped head to the thin straight legs. Then we cut the black and the rust pieces, sew and stuff the body, and do the face last.
The face is where the likeness lives. The tilt of the brows and the angle of the eye decide whether it's your dog or just a dog. If you need him by a certain day, say so in your first message.
We ship worldwide. Once your dog leaves the studio, delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country and the courier. Around the holidays parcels slow down, so leave a few spare days.
For a birthday or an adoption anniversary, add the making time and the shipping time, then count back from the date. For Christmas, order by November 1.
Name your date when you first write, and we'll tell you straight away if it works.
We've been sewing toys to order since 2009. A plush of your own dog is the most personal thing we make, and you know that face better than we ever will. So you see it first: photos of the finished toy come to you before it ships, and you can ask for changes.
If he arrives and you don't love him, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.
Not sure about size or style yet? Ask before we start. Changing a pattern is much easier than changing a finished dog.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
