This large white rabbit stuffed animal was sewn in 2016 for a theater. He was part of the set: a stage figure in a red top hat, there to set the mood of the play. We never made a second one. Every toy we sew is made to order, for one client and the thing they have in mind.
In Russian we called him Krolik Teatral, roughly "the theatergoer rabbit". When he left the studio we hoped the audience would like him and the show would get more than one round of applause.
Big enough to read from the back row
A stage prop has to work at a distance, so he's big. Lying down, he takes up a whole sofa seat. Sitting up, his feet hang over the edge.
The face is closer to a real hare than a cartoon bunny: a long muzzle, a small stitched mouth and round amber eyes that catch the light. The ears are long and soft, tan on the inside, and they flop wherever they land. So do the legs. Tan pads on the soles of his feet show when he sits with his legs out.
Then there's the hat. A tall red top hat with a grey band, worn slightly crooked. Real top hats used to be covered in silk plush, so a plush rabbit in one feels about right.
A rabbit for your stage, or your sofa
We made this one for a play, but a big rabbit doesn't need a theater. Imagine him in a store window, at the end of a bed, or as the guest of honor at an Alice-themed party.
- Size: tell us how tall, or pick Huge (60 cm and up) on the order form
- Color: white like this one, grey, brown or spotted
- Costume: another hat, a waistcoat, a bow tie, a pocket watch
A custom rabbit plush like this starts from $370, and the quote is free. You see photos of the finished toy before it ships. For more rabbits, see our White Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland or the big blue bunny. Another toy with a stage story is the Mouse King from The Nutcracker.
He's sewn from white faux fur with a short, dense pile, so he looks smooth from a distance and soft up close. The inner ears and the foot pads are a tan fabric.
The eyes are round and amber, set deep into the face under soft brows, so he seems to be watching you. The nose and mouth are stitched.
The red top hat is a separate piece with a grey band. For your rabbit we match the fur, eye color and costume to what you describe or send us.
- Faux fur in any color, short or long pile
- Hats, clothes and props made to your idea
- Wire in the ears or limbs if you want to pose them
A big rabbit like this usually takes 2-4 weeks. That figure includes some spare time, because handmade work doesn't always go to plan.
First comes the pattern, then the sewing, then the face. A hare's face is long and narrow, and a few millimetres on the muzzle or around the eyes change the whole expression.
You get photos of the finished rabbit before he ships. If he's needed for a premiere, a party or a birthday, give us the date in your first message.
We ship worldwide. Once your rabbit leaves the studio, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier.
A big toy makes a big parcel, and parcels slow down around the holidays, before Christmas most of all. For a Christmas gift, order by November 1. For an Easter rabbit, leave a few spare weeks.
Opening night is a fixed date. Tell us yours when you first write, and we'll say right away if sewing plus shipping fits.
We've been sewing toys to order since 2009. On a toy this big, any mistake in the pattern shows, which is why the proportions get the most attention.
You see photos of your rabbit before he's packed, and you can ask for changes then. If he arrives and you don't love him, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.
Same promise on every toy we make, big or small.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
