A custom plush toy sewn by hand at SKAZKODROM usually starts between $335 and $390. That’s the middle half of the 314 priced toy pages on our site. Custom toys start from $350, lost toy replicas from $295 and original characters from $400. Making usually takes 2β4 weeks.
We’ve sewn more than 2,100 toys to order since 2009, each one for a single customer. This page counts the ones you can see here: what they cost, what they were made from, and who asked for them.
Where do these custom plush numbers come from?
Of the 2,100+ toys we’ve sewn since 2009, 344 are on this website, each with photos and its story. We counted those 344 pages on 4 October 2026: what each toy was made from, what kind of character it is, and the starting price on its page. 314 pages show a price. The other 30 are business orders, mascots and prototypes, which are priced by contract.
A starting price is what a similar toy would start at today. The final quote depends on size, fabric and detail. Every page shows a toy we sewed for one person. One toy can belong to several categories, so the category counts below add up to more than 344.
How much does a custom plush toy cost?
Across the 314 toy pages on our site that show a price:
- The middle starting price is $355. Half of all toys start between $335 and $390.
- 79% start at $400 or less, and 96% at $500 or less.
- The top end is a handful of big projects. The giant raccoon, Manny the mammoth, Ferdinand the bull and a plush pouf come in at $875β$1,400. The fully dressed collector doll Carmelita Fox starts from $2,500.
Size pushes a custom plush above the usual range, and so do faux fur and fine handwork like painting or needle felting. Lots of separate parts (outfits, props, wings) add to it too. Where the money goes inside one toy is broken down in what your custom plush costs.
Which kind of custom plush costs the most?
Here’s the middle starting price for each kind of toy, from the same 344 pages:
- Toys from stickers and emojis: about $315
- Lost toy replicas: about $335 (the service starts from $295)
- Toys from drawings: about $348
- Characters from animated films and TV: about $350
- Portrait dolls from photos: about $400
- Realistic stuffed animals: about $400
- Original characters (OC plush): about $415
- Pet look-alikes from photos: about $435, and dog replicas alone about $473
- Faux taxidermy plush: about $520
Why does a pet plush cost more than a cartoon one? A pet look-alike has to match real fur markings, eye colour and body shape from photos, and that takes longer than copying a flat cartoon design.
What do people ask us to make into a custom plush?
Here’s what the categories on our 344 toy pages show:
- 96 characters from animated films and 94 from TV shows and movies
- 91 toys sewn from drawings, often a child’s or an artist’s
- 79 animals, 27 of them someone’s own pet
- 49 video game characters
- 38 original characters invented by the customer
- 35 character dolls and 17 toys from stickers or emojis
Tags tell a bit more. 72 of the 344 toys are keepsakes: a lost childhood toy, a pet, a family memory. 65 are fantasy creatures like dragons, monsters and unicorns. And 27 are giant plush, like the raccoon below.
Is a custom plush a gift for kids or for adults?
Very often it’s for adults. 112 of our 344 toy pages carry a nostalgia tag: 48 toys of characters from the 2010s, 33 from the 2000s, 29 from the 90s, 13 from the 80s and 3 from the 70s (a few carry two). Most are characters people loved as kids. Dex in the USA had wanted Rugby Tiger from Jim Henson’s The Christmas Toy since childhood. When the toy arrived, he wrote:
βI will treasure this doll for many years to come β which for me, is a childhood dream come true to own!β

The toy industry sees the same thing. Circana reported that in the first quarter of 2025, US toy sales to adults (18+) grew 12% on a year earlier, faster than any other age group. More on that in custom plush for nostalgia.
How long does a custom plush take to make?
Making a custom plush usually takes 2β4 weeks, then delivery usually takes 7β20 business days. Before a toy ships, the customer sees photos of it, and we change anything that looks off. On personal orders, a customer who doesn’t love the toy gets a full refund within 14 days and keeps it (see our guarantee). For Christmas, order by November 1.
What should I send to get a custom plush quote?
Anything that shows the toy: a drawing, a few photos from different sides, a screenshot of the character, or just a description. Artists often send their own character sheets. Magge, an illustrator in Italy, invented a dog called Lou, and we built him from one of her drawings. She wrote:
βTheir style of work really compliments my style of illustration.β

Custom toys start from $350.
A bigger size or extra details can cost more.
Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
