Some grown-ups wanted to bring a whole cartoon into a child's room. Not a figure for the shelf. The mammoth himself. So in 2011 we sewed this Manny Ice Age plush by hand, to order, for that one family. He stands 60 cm (24 in) tall and is about 1 m (39 in) long.
We built him so a three-year-old could climb up on his back. That was the brief, and it shaped everything: the thick legs, the wide body, the low, steady stance.
The mammoth from Ice Age
Manny is the woolly mammoth from Ice Age (2002, Blue Sky Studios), voiced by Ray Romano. He starts the film as a grump who wants to be left alone, then ends up walking a lost human baby home with Sid the sloth and Diego the sabre-tooth. He's the big, tired, kind one of the herd. His running joke is that he isn't fat. It's the fur. It makes him look poofy.
We took the fur part seriously. His mane is long, ginger faux fur that falls over his forehead and down his back. The rest of him is short brown plush.

Manny is sewn from premium plush in two lengths of pile, so he looks like a mammoth and not a brown elephant.
- Short brown plush for the body, legs, head and trunk
- Long ginger faux fur for the mane on his head and back
- Cream plush for the soft tusks
- Pink plush inside the ears and on the trunk tip
- Darker brown fabric for the soles
The filling is hypoallergenic, and it's packed firm enough for a small child to sit on his back. We use faux fur only. If you want him smaller, softer for hugging, or closer to how he looks in a later film, say so in your first message, because it changes the pattern.
A Manny plush usually takes 2–4 weeks to make. A toy this big can need longer, and we'll name the time in your quote.
Most of the work is in the body. At 1 m long he has to stand on four legs without sagging, and the back has to hold a child's weight.
The face comes last. Under those heavy brows, a few millimetres decide whether he looks kind or just sleepy. The time frame keeps a small reserve for handmade surprises. Need him by a birthday? Tell us at the start.
We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Around the holidays parcels move slower, so leave some extra time.
A giant mammoth makes a big parcel, so plan for a big box at the door. Add the making time to the delivery time and count back from the birthday or holiday. For Christmas, order by November 1.
Before Manny leaves the studio, you get photos of the finished toy. We pack him so his tusks and trunk arrive in shape.
We've been making custom plush since 2009. Kids who know Ice Age by heart spot a wrong trunk or a missing mane right away.
