This dog memorial stuffed animal is needle-felted from wool, by hand, for one person. It isn't a toy off a shelf. We make each memorial dog to order from the owner's photos, so the next one we make would look like your dog, not this one.

This one sits the way dogs sit when they're waiting for something: front paws together, tail out to the side, head tilted a little. Golden ginger coat. Soft brown ears that fold forward. Dark glass eyes, a black nose, and an open mouth with tiny teeth and pale whiskers. There's a touch of grey around the muzzle. Around the neck is a brown leather-look collar, worn at the edges.

Why the small things matter

A dog is easy to draw in general. Your dog is not. Maybe it's an ear that never stood up, a white patch on the chest, or the grey that crept in over the last few years. Those are the details people notice first when the parcel opens, so they're the ones we spend the most time on.

The collar is a good example. If your dog wore the same one for years, show it to us in a photo and we'll copy its colour and shape.

How close will it look?

As close as wool and fabric allow. We match the coat colour, the markings and the expression from your photos. It's a handmade likeness, not an exact copy, and we'd rather say that up front. You see photos of the finished dog before it ships, and if something looks wrong, we change it.

Materials used

This dog is needle-felted from wool. Loose wool is worked with a barbed needle, over and over, until it holds a shape. The surface ends up firm and slightly fuzzy, and it keeps fine detail like the fold of an ear or the dark tips on the paws.

The colours go on in layers: golden ginger over the body, deeper brown on the ears, grey around the mouth. The eyes are glass. The collar is a separate piece in brown leather-look material.

We use wool and faux fur only, never natural fur, and our materials are premium and hypoallergenic. Our felted fox shows the same technique on a wild animal.

Lead time

A memorial dog usually takes 2–4 weeks to make, with some spare time built in, because handwork doesn't always go to plan.

Most of it goes into the face. We shape the muzzle, set the eyes and layer the colours until the expression looks like the dog in your photos. Felting is slow work.

Before anything ships, you get photos of the finished toy. Need it by a certain date? Tell us in your first message and we'll say honestly whether it fits.

Delivery

We ship worldwide. Once your dog leaves the studio, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country, the carrier and customs.

Around the holidays, Christmas most of all, the post slows down. If the toy is a gift, say for a parent or a friend who lost their dog, leave a few spare days.
