Most gorilla toys are cartoons: a round face, a grin, mitten paws. This realistic gorilla plush goes the other way. He's a baby gorilla about 55 cm (22 in) tall, and we sew each one to order, for the person who asked for him. Nothing waits on a shelf here. Your gorilla is started after you write to us.

The hands give it away

Look at his hands first. Every finger and toe is shaped one by one in smooth black faux leather, so the hands and feet look like a young gorilla's, not like paws. Real gorillas have their own fingerprints, each one different, just like people. Hands matter on an ape.

The face is the same smooth black: a flat nose, a wide mouth with a pale lip line, brown eyes and round ears tucked into the fur. You can see the hand stitching around the face and the palms if you get close.

A big baby

The rest of him is thick, shaggy black faux fur, the scruffy coat you see on baby gorillas in wildlife photos. His arms and legs are long and loose. He sits up on his own with his legs stretched out in front, the way a little ape plonks down when it's tired of climbing.

A newborn gorilla weighs about 4 pounds and rides on its mother's back from around three months old, sometimes until it's nearly four. At 55 cm ours is closer to that toddler stage than to a pocket plush. He fills a lap.

Materials used

The coat is long, thick black faux fur, left shaggy on purpose so it looks like a young gorilla's hair and not like a teddy bear's trim.

The face, hands and feet are smooth black faux leather. That's where realism lives: the fingers and toes are cut and stitched one by one, and the face is shaped with a flat nose, a wide mouth and a pale lip line. Brown eyes finish it.

All our materials are premium and hypoallergenic. We only use faux fur, never natural fur.

Lead time

A baby gorilla like this one usually takes 2-4 weeks to make. The estimate keeps a little spare time for handwork surprises.

Most of the time goes into the parts that make him look real. The pattern is drafted for your gorilla, the fur is cut so it falls the right way, and each finger and toe is shaped and sewn by hand.

You get photos of the finished gorilla before he ships. If you need him by a certain date, mention it in your first message.

Delivery

We ship worldwide. After your gorilla leaves the studio, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country, the carrier and customs.

Around the holidays the post slows down and those days stretch. For a gorilla under the Christmas tree, place your order by November 1. For a birthday, leave a few spare days too.
