Green Cat Plush, a Chubby Grumpy Kitty

Description

This green cat plush does not smile. He stands on two thick legs, arms stuck out to the sides, and looks at you like you're late with his dinner. That frown is the whole point. He's about 30 cm (12 in) tall and made to order: we start sewing after you write to us, so nothing sits on a shelf waiting.

What he looks like

Bright green faux fur with a long, soft pile covers him from ears to feet. A tuft of longer fur sticks straight up on top of his head, like he just woke up and isn't happy about it. Pink inner ears, a small pink nose, long white whiskers. The dark glossy eyes sit under a heavy brow, and that brow does most of the work.

The body is round and heavy-looking, with short stubby arms. He stands on his own feet, so he can guard a desk or a shelf without leaning on anything.

Why a grumpy face works

Plenty of people who love plush say the same thing: the sulky, slightly offended faces are the ones they can't walk past. A chubby cat with a frown is funny in a way a smiling one isn't. Every cat owner has seen that exact look from their own cat, usually around feeding time.

Who he's for

A friend who is grumpy before coffee
Someone who collects odd plush and has every round cat already
A cat owner who knows this face from home
A green toy to tuck under the tree in December

Make him yours

He's our own design, and you can change it. Ask for a different size, another fur color (your own cat's ginger or gray, say), a new pose or extras. If you have a character of your own, we sew that too. Have a look at our OC plush or at Ronald, a giant cat in glasses. Want a plush that looks like your real cat? That's custom cat plush from photos.

The green cat starts from $435, and the quote is free. You see photos of the finished toy before it ships. We're an independent studio and have been sewing toys by hand since 2009.

Materials used

He's covered in long-pile faux fur in a bright grass green. It's soft to the touch and fluffy enough that the whole cat looks a little blurry at the edges. The tuft on his head is a longer piece of the same green fur.

The ears are lined with pink, and the nose is a small pink detail. The eyes are dark and glossy, and the whiskers are long and white. All our materials are premium and hypoallergenic. We use faux fur only, never natural fur.

Size: about 30 cm (12 in) tall, or any size you ask for
Colour: green, or any color you choose
On request: a wire frame for posing, sound, LED lights, an embroidered name

Lead time

The green cat usually takes 2-4 weeks to make. We keep a little spare time in that, because handwork brings surprises.

Most of the time goes into the head. The frown comes from where the eyes and brow sit, and a few millimeters either way turns grumpy into sleepy or sad. So we set the face by hand and trim the long fur around it until the look is right.

You get photos of the finished cat before anything ships. Need him by a date? Say so in your first message.

Delivery

We ship worldwide. After your cat leaves the studio, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country, the carrier and customs.

The mail gets slower around the holidays, and Christmas is the worst of it. A green cat is a good December gift, so if he's going under the tree, order by November 1.

For a birthday, tell us the date when you first write. We'll add up the making and the shipping and tell you straight away if it fits.

Guarantee

We've been making toys to order since 2009. A face like this one is easy to get wrong, so we don't leave it to chance: you see photos of the finished cat before it's packed, and you can ask for changes.

If he arrives and you don't love him, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.

He can stay as grumpy as he likes. You shouldn't have to.
