Meet Mr. Egg: a white egg in a captain's cap, grinning so wide you can see his pink tongue. You won't find this Mr. Egg toy on a store shelf. We sewed him to order from one customer's drawings, a big Mr. Egg about a meter tall plus a crew of little eggs in matching caps.

Not the egg from the game

Searching for "Mr. Egg" also turns up Mr.Egg: Adventure, a 2022 pixel-art game on Steam where an egg fights with a sword. Different egg. Ours came to us in 2012, years before that game, and he started life on paper. He's an original character, proof that someone's drawings can become a real plush.

What makes him Mr. Egg

Every detail comes from the drawings. The white cap has a gold anchor badge, a gold cord and a black visor. His eyes are big rings of black stitching with blue pupils. Long grey arms end in white cartoon gloves, and his feet are chunky black-and-white sneakers with real laces.

The body is one smooth egg, soft to hug and steady enough to sit on a sofa with the small eggs leaning on him. Next to his crew he looks like a proud captain.

Materials used

Mr. Egg is sewn from premium plush fabric with durable stitching and hypoallergenic filling. The white fabric keeps his egg shape clean and smooth, so the stitched face stands out from across the room.

Each part is cut and sewn by hand: the captain's cap with its anchor badge and cord, the grey arms, the white gloves, the laced sneakers. When you send us your own character, we pick fabrics to match the colors in your drawing as closely as we can.

Lead time

A toy like Mr. Egg usually takes 2–4 weeks to make.

Much of that time goes into the pattern. A drawing is flat, and an egg with arms, legs and a cap has to work from every side. Then come the face, the cap badge, the gloves and the shoelaces, all done by hand.

The exact time depends on size and details, so we say "usually". When the toy is ready, we send you photos to approve before it goes in the box.

Delivery

Delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on where you live and the carrier and shipping method you choose. Sometimes it arrives in about a week.

Around the holidays couriers are overloaded and parcels slow down, so plan a little extra time if Mr. Egg or your own character has to arrive for a birthday or Christmas.
