Meet Ronald, a giant cat plush with a serious face and a soft heart. He's a white cat in round black felt glasses and a proper bow tie. He looks clever and a little strict. He's also very hard not to like.

We didn't make Ronald for a shop shelf. A company ordered him as a thank-you gift for one of its most valued employees, and our makers sewed him by hand for that one person. Everything we make works this way: made to order, for one customer and their idea.

There's a reason he looks familiar. Ronald looks a lot like the man he was made for, so he's really a portrait gift with whiskers.

How big is he?

Big. In the photos Ronald sits on a step stool the way a person would, one leg stretched out and one paw raised as if he's about to make a point. In another shot he sits at a piano next to a grinning man, and he takes up about as much room as a grown-up.

The details that make him a gentleman

Materials used

Ronald is sewn from faux fur, textile, wire, felt and glass eyes. We only use faux fur, never real fur.

The long white pile gives him his fluffy cheeks and the scruffy "just woke up" fur on his head. It's soft to hug. The pink parts, like the inner ears, nose and paw pads, are made separately, so they stay crisp against all that white.

The glasses are felt: light, soft and safe to bump into. The bow tie is textile, so it can be as bright as you like. Wire inside the toy helps the big body keep its pose, so Ronald can sit upright on a chair instead of slumping over.

Glass eyes are what make him look back at you. They catch the light behind the felt frames in a way plastic eyes don't.

Lead time

A toy like Ronald usually takes 3–4 weeks to make.

Most of that time goes into the parts you can't rush on a giant plush: the pattern for a body this big, cutting and sewing the long fur so it lies the right way, and the face. The eyes, the nose and the glasses have to sit exactly right, or the whole character reads differently.

The time frame includes a small reserve for handmade surprises. If you need the toy for a date, like a work anniversary or a retirement party, tell us when you first write.

Delivery

We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on the country. Around big holidays, carriers slow down, so add a few extra days in December.

A giant cat needs a big box, and we pack him so the fur and the glasses arrive in good shape. Before he leaves, we send you photos of the finished toy.

If he's a corporate gift, plan it backwards: add the making time and delivery together, and order early enough to have Ronald in the office before the day you hand him over.
