His name is Pirozhok. In Russian that means "little pie". Look at the teeth and decide for yourself how well it fits.

Pirozhok is a monster from a Japanese animated show. Our customer sent us one still from it: a brown beast crouched on a stone floor, mouth open, two long feelers swinging over his head. We sewed this anime monster plush from that single frame, by hand and made to order, back in 2010. We don't keep monsters on a shelf. Each one is cut from a pattern made for that one order.

From a flat frame to a plush you can hold

A cartoon still shows one side of a character. The rest we had to work out: how the spikes run down the back, how thick the tail gets, what the paws look like from the front. Then we kept what makes him him:

  • Mouth: wide open, red inside, with a red tongue and two rows of white felt fangs
  • Eyes: big round yellow ones that stick out of the head
  • Snout: a flat brown faux leather pig nose with dark nostrils
  • Feelers: two long ears lined in dark red, ending in brown fringe
  • Back: a crest of brown suede spikes and a tall pointed tail
  • Paws: short and wide, with pale claws

He lies flat on his belly, chin on the floor, the way he crouches in the frame. The matchbox in the photos is there for scale.

Your monster next

Got a creature from an anime, an old cartoon or a show nobody else remembers? A screenshot is enough to start. Send a few frames if you have them, pick a size in the order form, and you'll see photos of the finished plush before it ships.

We're an independent studio. This plush is a fan piece, not an official product of the show.

More characters from cartoons are in Toys From Animated Films. Another anime monster we sewed is Domo-kun, and for a softer kind of monster there's Shtusha-Kutusha.

Pirozhok is sewn from scratch from a pattern drawn for him alone.

  • Soft brown faux fur for the body, head, paws and tail
  • Brown suede-like fabric for the spikes and the fringe on the feelers
  • Dark red lining inside the feelers and the mouth
  • Brown faux leather for the snout, with appliqued nostrils
  • White felt fangs, a red plush tongue and a pale yellow chin
  • Round yellow eyes with blue pupils

The filling is premium and hypoallergenic. The head is stuffed firm so the open mouth keeps its shape, and the feelers hold up on their own.

For your monster we match the fabrics to your frames: fur length, colour, scales or spikes. Want a growl sound module, glowing LED eyes or poseable paws on a wire frame? Mention it in your first message, since these go in while we sew.

A custom monster plush usually takes 2–4 weeks. Extras like sound or LED eyes can add a few days. You get the date with your quote.

Most of the time goes into the pattern. A character from a screenshot has no turnaround sheet, so we work out the back, the sides and the underside before we cut anything. The face comes last: the eyes, the teeth and the angle of the jaw decide whether it reads as your monster.

The time frame keeps a small reserve for handmade surprises. If there's a date to hit, tell us at the start.

We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country. Around the holidays parcels move slower, so leave some extra time.

A monster from a favourite show makes a good birthday surprise for a fan. For Christmas, order by November 1. For any other date, count back the making time plus the shipping.

Before anything ships, you get photos of the finished toy. We pack him so the feelers and the spikes arrive straight.

We've been sewing custom toys since 2009, and Pirozhok is one of our early ones. Fans know their character down to the number of teeth, so we don't guess.

You approve photos before we ship. If the plush arrives and you don't love it, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.

Want the whole cast of the show? We can sew several characters in one style and scale. The price is per toy.

Why?

No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.

Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.

Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.

You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.

One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.

That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
