This Phil Hercules plush is Philoctetes, the short, shouting satyr who coaches Hercules in Disney's 1997 film. We sewed him to order for one fan, like every toy we make. There's no stock and no shelf. You send pictures, tell us which Phil you want, and we sew him from scratch.
Ask people about Hercules and Phil comes up fast. He's the side character fans call one of the most underrated in Disney's lineup. Plenty of grown-ups say he was their dad's favorite, right after Hades. Some still talk about the Philoctetes plush they had as kids.
Who Phil is
Phil is half man, half goat: a crotchety old trainer of heroes. When Hercules finds him, he's retired. He trained Jason, Odysseus, Perseus, Theseus and Achilles, and none of them turned out the way he hoped. It takes a lightning bolt from Zeus, in the middle of the song "One Last Hope", to talk him into one more student.
Danny DeVito voices him. Directors John Musker and Ron Clements wrote the part with him in mind.
What we sewed
- A round tan body with a belly that sticks out, just like in the film
- Shaggy dark-red faux fur for the beard, the chest and the goat legs
- Curved brown horns, pointed ears and a few stray black hairs on top
- A big red nose, an open grin with a pink tongue, and hooves
- His display stand, a metal rod that keeps him upright. It comes with him.
Your Phil, your way
Want him grumpy with arms crossed, or waving like this one? He can be small enough for a desk or big enough to hug. Send screenshots or fan art, and say if Hercules, Meg or Pegasus should join him. We can also add a sound module or an embroidered name. You get photos of the finished toy before it ships. More movie characters live in our toys from animated films, and another Disney favorite of ours is Zummi Gummi.
We're an independent studio. This is a handmade fan piece, not official Disney merchandise.
Phil is sewn from premium fabrics, picked part by part so he reads as Phil from across the room:
- Soft tan fabric for the face, arms and that round belly
- Long-pile faux fur in dark red for the beard, the chest tuft and the shaggy goat legs
- Textured brown fabric for the horns and hooves, so they look different from the soft parts
- A red plush nose and a sewn mouth with teeth and tongue
The filling is hypoallergenic and keeps him squishy. Want poseable arms so he can cross them like a coach, or a different fur shade? Tell us before we start, because those go in while we sew.
A custom Phil plush usually takes 2β4 weeks to make.
We start with a pattern drawn from your pictures. Phil is all proportions: a big head, a belly that sticks out, short goat legs. Get one wrong and he stops looking like Phil.
Then we cut the fur, shape the horns and sew the face on last. That grin is what people check first. The time frame includes a small reserve for handmade surprises. If you need him by a set date, say so in your first message.
We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7β20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Around the holidays couriers slow down, so allow extra time.
Thinking of him as a gift for a dad who still quotes Phil, or for a friend who rewatches Hercules every year? Add the making time and delivery together and count back from the date. For Christmas, order by November 1.
Before he leaves, we send you photos of the finished toy. He travels packed, display stand included, so his horns and fur arrive in shape.
We've been sewing custom plush since 2009. A lot of it is fan characters, and fans spot a wrong detail in a second: the nose too small, the horns curling the wrong way.
That's why you see photos of your Phil before he ships. If you still don't love him, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.
Not sure about the size, or which scene he should come from? Ask before we start. A detail is much easier to fix in the pattern than in a finished toy.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
