What do you give a man who adores his pet pig? One of our customers asked herself exactly that. She's a big fan of this big fan of his pig, so she sent us a photo of the pig. We sewed this custom pig plush from it, by hand and made to order, as a holiday present.
That was back in 2010. We still don't keep ready pigs on a shelf. You send a photo of your pig, and we sew that one pig.
Why "Pigopotamus"
On our Russian site we called him Svinopotam, half pig, half hippo. Look at him and you'll see why. He's heavy and round, with a big belly, short legs and a snout so wide it folds up like an accordion. A pig with the build of a hippopotamus.
What we copied from the photo
- Coat: curly black faux fur all over, with a tuft of stiff bristles on top of the head
- Snout: grey, in thick soft folds, with two button nostrils at the end
- Eyes: amber, under heavy grey lids, so he always looks a little sleepy and a little doubtful
- Ears: big and black, one up and one flopped, with grey insides
- Legs: four short legs with glossy black hooves
- Tail: a black curl that stands up
The matchbox in the photos is there for scale. He stands on his own four hooves.
Your pig next
Pot-bellied, mini, a farm pig that lives in the house: send a few clear photos of your pig from the front, the side and the back, and pick a size in the order form. A cartoon-style pig is fine too, if you'd rather have a funnier take. You'll see photos of the finished plush before it ships.
More pet copies live in Pet Stuffed Animals. A smaller pet we sewed from photos is Rat Zhiriska. For a storybook pig, there's our Big Piglet.
The Pigopotamus is cut and sewn from scratch, from a pattern made for this one pig.
- Curly black faux fur for the body, head, legs and tail
- Soft grey fabric for the folded snout and the inner ears
- Button nostrils and amber eyes set under grey lids
- Glossy black hooves
- A tuft of black bristles on the head and a few lashes
The filling is premium and hypoallergenic. He's stuffed firm, so the round body and the stacked snout keep their shape and he stands up without help.
For your pig we match the coat to your photos: black, pink, spotted, ginger or bristly. Want a sound module, LED eyes or poseable legs on a wire frame? Ask in your first message, because these go in while we sew.
A custom pig plush usually takes 2–4 weeks. Extras like a sound module or poseable legs can add a few days. We'll give you the date when we quote.
The face takes the most time. The snout, the eyes and the lids decide whether the plush looks like your pig or like some other pig, and owners notice the difference at once.
The time frame keeps a small reserve for handmade surprises. If the plush is a gift for a set date, tell us at the start.
We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country. Around the holidays parcels move slower, so give yourself extra time.
This one was made as a holiday gift, and many pig plushies are. For Christmas, order by November 1. Birthdays and anniversaries work the same way: count back the making time plus the shipping.
Before anything ships, you get photos of the finished toy. We pack him so the snout and the ears arrive in shape.
We've been sewing custom toys since 2009. This pig is one of our early ones, and pig owners are a demanding crowd. They know every fold of that snout.
So you approve photos before we ship. If the plush arrives and you don't love it, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.
Have more than one pig at home? We can sew them as a set, in matching size and style. The price is per pig.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
