A seal pup you can hold
Real harp seal pups wear a fluffy white coat for their first three or four weeks. Then it's gone, and they go grey like the grown-ups. Ours keeps the white coat for good.
The body is soft white faux fur. The eyes have dark rims around them, the muzzle is smoky grey, the nose is black, and long whiskers stick out on both sides. There are faint grey marks on the flippers where claws would be. Lay him on his belly, roll him onto his back, or prop him up against a pillow. He looks like a seal pup every way round.
Why faux fur matters here
For a long time, white seal pups were hunted for their coats. We don't like animals being used for fur, meat or bones. So we sew the cute version instead, with faux fur only. That's also why we make plush faux taxidermy: the look of a trophy, no animal harmed.
An older seal, from 2016
The grey seal at the end of the gallery is an earlier order. We made it in 2016 from a picture the client sent: a grey coat with dark spots, a white throat and belly, long flippers and an open mouth. Two seals, two clients, two very different looks.

Seal fans tend to have a favourite. Maybe a fat round seal that looks like a rice ball. A ribbon seal or a Weddell seal nobody makes. Or the old aquarium souvenir you had as a kid and can't find again, which we can rebuild as a lost toy replica. Send photos or a drawing and tell us:

The baby seal is sewn from white faux fur with a short, dense pile. It's soft to stroke, and short enough that the round head, the chubby body and the flippers keep their shape. The muzzle and the eye rims are shaded grey and black, so the face reads like a real pup's.

For your seal we match the fur colour and markings to your photos: pure white, grey with spots, or anything in between. All our materials are premium and hypoallergenic. We never use natural fur, only faux.

A realistic seal like this one usually takes 2-4 weeks. The estimate keeps a bit of spare time for handwork surprises.
Most of that time goes into the face. The pattern is drawn for your seal alone, the fur is cut to lie the right way, and the eye rims, muzzle and whiskers are finished by hand. Get the eyes a few millimetres off and a seal pup turns into a puppy.
Before anything ships, you get photos of the finished toy. Need it by a certain date? Say so in your first message.
We ship worldwide. Once your seal leaves the studio, delivery usually takes 7 to 20 business days, depending on your country, the carrier and customs.
Around the holidays the post slows down and those days stretch, Christmas most of all. For a Christmas seal, order by November 1.
