Red hair, freckles, a toothy grin. This Antoshka doll is the boy from the Soviet cartoon, sewn by hand to order in 2022, and he came with his best friend, a little black crow.
We don't keep ready toys on a shelf. A customer asked us for Antoshka in a size of their own choosing, and we made this one doll for them.
Who Antoshka is
We love Soviet cartoons. They're kind and cosy, and most of them quietly teach you something. Antoshka came out in 1969 at Soyuzmultfilm, in the very first issue of the Happy Merry-Go-Round series, directed by Leonid Nosyrev. Antoshka is a lazy kid who'd rather do anything than go dig potatoes. The song by Vladimir Shainsky and Yuri Entin goes "Antoshka, Antoshka, let's go dig potatoes".
What we gave him
- A big, fluffy mop of bright orange faux fur
- Painted freckles, rosy cheeks, brown eyes and two front teeth
- Lime green shorts, bare feet with toes and hands with separate fingers
- A wire frame inside, so you can bend his arms and legs, sit him down or have him wave
- His friend the crow: shaggy black faux fur, big white eyes, an orange-brown beak and thin legs
He's a big doll. We also have photos of an Antoshka with a thick orange yarn fringe instead of fur, so the hair can go either way.
Who he's for
This red-haired, freckled pair has been around for several generations of kids and grown-ups, so he makes a lovely keepsake gift for your family. Pick a size in the order form, send a frame from the cartoon if you want a certain look, and you'll see photos of the finished doll before it ships.
We can sew any character you love from a film, a game, a cartoon or a book. More people-shaped characters live in Character Dolls, like our Barmaley doll, and more cartoon favourites are in Toys From Animated Films.
We're an independent studio. This is a handmade fan piece, not an official Soyuzmultfilm product.
Every part of Antoshka is cut and sewn for this one doll.
- A soft tan fabric body with a sewn face, ears, fingers and toes
- Long, shaggy orange faux fur for the hair (or orange yarn, if you prefer)
- Freckles, cheeks and eyebrows painted by hand
- Lime green shorts sewn as real clothes
- A bendable wire frame inside the arms and legs
- The crow in black faux fur with a fabric beak and legs
The filling is hypoallergenic. Want a potato sack, a shovel or a sound module? Tell us in your first message.
A doll like Antoshka usually takes 2–4 weeks. The crow, a bigger size or extra props can add a little time, and we'll give you the date when we quote.
The face takes longest. The sleepy eyes, the freckles and the grin have to read as Antoshka, not just any red-haired boy.
Then comes the frame inside, the hair and the crow. The time frame keeps a small reserve for handmade surprises. If you have a birthday or another date in mind, tell us at the start.
We ship worldwide. Delivery usually takes 7–20 business days, depending on your country and the carrier. Around the holidays parcels move slower, so leave some extra time.
Antoshka often goes to someone who grew up singing his song. Add the making time to the delivery time and count back from your date. For Christmas, order by November 1.
You see photos of the finished doll before it leaves the studio. We pack him so the hair and the crow arrive in shape.
We've been making custom toys since 2009. People who grew up with this cartoon spot wrong freckles or a missing crow straight away.
That's why you approve photos before anything ships. If you don't love the doll, you get a full refund within 14 days, for any reason.

Why?
No ready-made pattern. Your photo or drawing doesn’t come with one. Our artist builds the pattern from scratch and turns a flat picture into a 3D toy. It’s the hardest and slowest part.
Materials picked for your toy. The right color, fur length and texture. Sometimes we order fabric just for one project.
Sewn by hand. Every piece is cut, sewn, stuffed and finished by hand. The face takes the most time: move an eye a millimeter and the character changes.
You approve it first. When your toy is ready, we send you photos. Something looks off? We fix it before shipping.
One toy, not a thousand. A factory spreads design costs over thousands of copies. Here, all that work goes into one toy: yours.
That’s why prices start at $350. And on a personal order, if you don’t love your toy, you get a full refund.
